The lack of a multiplayer campaign doesn't help to alleviate the biggest concern of East India Company ; that there isn't enough here to keep you sustained in the long run. The Grand Campaign will keep occupied for a good length of time, but after all the effort put in to succeed it may be hard to start over again from the beginning, at least in the short term. The only alternative then would be multiplayer, but the competitive battles won't suit all players of the game.... Read more

This naval-centric strategy game merely treads water. A few months after it shipped, East India Company was updated with a number of new features and enhancements. These include but are not limited to new port views, history graphs, fighting on land in island battles, and two additional multiplayer modes. Read more

I’ve just spent several hours playing the demo version of this game and despite adverse reviews on other well known sites I think it’s brilliant! The most realistic sea battles under sail I’ve encountered (including Empire TW) and as a member of the Nelson Society I should know!! A Trade based game and empire builder with enemies it gets a top mark from me for sheer enjoyment and lack of tedium that you get with some trade based games. Read more

Promises, promises, this game offers little of what is advertised. The main let down is the control, choppy at best, leaving you out more money that you could have used for a much better game , or paid you light bill. Even the tutorials do not work correctly,( a RED FLAG of whats to come). All in all, it must have been rushed into production before the bugs were worked out, and the patch does not help. Read more

Fun: This review is from: East India Company (PC DVD) (DVD-ROM) I've played about everything from Pirates over Patrician to Port Royale, and EIC (which was released AFTER those) is by far the worst I ever enountered. You could literally take all the worst aspects and game-mechanics of those I listed and put them together, you'd still get a game which is miles better than EIC. The GUI is awful, the gameflow is awful, the worldmap is awful, the options you have are... Read more
