my favorite game

  • Summary: phenom II 965 4ghz , ATI 5850 935/1225. 128GB SSD,ripjaws 1600 ,CL 7.8.7.24. can't wait for DAIII, i hope it's as good as these last two.
  • Pros: some of the very best Dx11 graphics today. just looks very amazing and performs well on any quad core cpu, scalles powerfull GPU's at very good rate even scales in quad CF/sli unlike 95% of all games. one of the funnest games i have ever played , very halarius conversations and comments, tons of i...
  • Cons: I love everything about this game, but the few maps that crash and say display driver is not responding, which is problem on both amd/nvidia and there is no fix for it.

Mixed Feelings

Jose S., Newegg
18 May 2012
  • Summary: I actually really liked the game but I gave it 3 stars because a) it did not compare to DAO really. Graphically it's better, but really it falls short in the other areas. I feel like they developed far more unique characters for DAO than DA2, and b) I swear I must have walked past the same skeleton...
  • Pros: Solid game. Decent graphics. Easy enough gameplay/controls. The story (despite what many may say) is actually interesting, although I agree with the lack of fluidity. It's more like 3 separate stories with some common ground. I replayed quite a few times and got a solid 15-20 hours on each play t...
  • Cons: Now...the cons. The game does not go into each character quite as much as the first one did, and gift giving is all but eliminated. I DO like the interesting system of giving each character two specific gifts that you have to find, but meh, I would have liked more character interaction. Don't get...

  • Summary: I am a fan of the DA:O and the expansion Awakenings. I wont go on a hate fest like soo many, I perfered the original dragon ages as they were mainly made for PC and in my opinion better made, You also had different beginnings for different classes which was a plus.

Wanted to love it but..

  • Summary: Even though I'm a huge fan of DA:Origins, I still tried to view DA2 on its own merits and not compare it to Origins. But this game was still disappointing. The graphics are good, I liked the protagonist, and I even enjoyed the combat mechanics (even though it has been simplified to the point of...

MyDragon Age II Review

S. F. Galeano, Amazon
1 February 2012
  • Summary: Dragon Age 2 is the heroic dungeon crawling sequel for the Dragon Age Origins saga, but other than the title name "Dragon Age 2" the game is a lot different and smaller by comparison.

  • Summary: There's not too much for me to add that hasn't been said by fans and professional reviewers before. This was a colossal disappointment compared to DA:O. Boo, suck.

Pass

  • Summary: To preface I have beaten Dragon Age on the computer. They took almost everything about Dragon Age I and ruined it in this game. Character dialogue is rehashed almost as much as the terrain and environment, you will see the same dungeon multiple times and it truly is game breaking, do not let anyone...

a sad sequel

M. Schmidt, Amazon

  • Summary: Not nearly as good as the first game. They ruined a good PC game by making it console friendly. Perhaps my expectations were to high but I am sadly disappointed in Dragon Age 2.

  • Summary: To fans of Dragon Age: Origins be warned. This game does NOT do its predecessor justice. The first few hours of the game were fun, I enjoyed the smooth feel of combat and enjoyed Varric's humour very much.

Bioware's Worst Game

trevor l., Newegg
8 November 2011
  • Summary: Like most sequels, they tried to be "innovative" to create a "new" experience. But in doing so the foundations that made the original so great have been tampered with or destroyed completely. :(
  • Pros: The graphics are pretty good looking, although going into directx11 mode destroys my framerate on my desktop (radeon hd5770, 3.0ghz core 2 duo, 4gb of ram). The combat seems smoother and faster than the origins but read my cons about that. Voice acting is pretty good.
  • Cons: The pc version has a gamestopping bug that if you don't patch could ruin a perfectly good save (this of course is about 1 to 2 hours in... The combat I said was faster paced, but it's too easy and dumbed down. Just like the story! you don't get to know your companions as well as you did in origin...
