Black ops is a good addition to the franchise however it's nowhere near the best game out
7 May 2013
Excerpt: Black Ops is the seventh game in the call of duty franchise. The main thing to note is that this game was developed by Treyarch, the same guys who brought us world at war. Fans of the CoD franchise will be familiar with the game mechanics on black ops as they haven't changed. You assume the role of a foot soldier who can use a number of firearms; throw grenades and other explosives. Pretty much the same as most FPS.
Excerpt: "I am loving this new Call of duty. What's keeping this game alive is the multiplayer. The multiplayer is new with its "pick 10" system which revolutionises the new create-a-class system. Play without weapons and go running with knife only with lots of perks? or perhaps use 3 attachments for your gun and run with no grenades and tacticals. Create your class for your own playstyles. Diving is back but I found it rather not useful in many situations. ...
Pros: Fun, hours of gameplay
Cons: Might get boring if you're not good . Start comlaining .
Summary: I'm well aware that the Call Of Duty games seem to have been coming under a bit of fire recently, mostly for the repetitive gameplay that gets churned out and marketed as a new instalment. People who once loved the franchise now hate it, because it's 'rubbish now', regardless of the fact nothing much has changed about it.
Excerpt: "Call of Duty black ops WOW! what a game, everything i want from a FPS, the graphics, the gameplay, action, explosions and to not get frustrated and getting stuck on every level, Anyone could play this game( that why us gamers have hardcore mode) and feel they could conquer the world, i would recommend this game to anyone its what FPS should be, one thing though which disapointed me, i paid £40 for this game when it came out and it is the most buggy ...
Pros: great characters, gameplay, graphics and action 10 out of 10 game
Cons: not cheat new and very buggy game(there is a few updates fixes now)
Excerpt: You may already have got an idea how much I dislike Call of Duty Black Ops simply from the headline. Make no mistake, it sold quite substantially and broke previous records set by Modern Warfare 2, but that doesn't necesarrily make it a good game. In fact the situation was so dire, that till date I have yet to play the offline story mode simply because I pick up these games to play with my friends. I wish I could do that however as multiplayer is just farcical.
Summary: Fresh is not a term I would use to describe this installment in the Call of Duty annual juggernaut. It is the same experience, playable missions featuring a shoot and cover system. However it is of suge huge quality it remains head and shoulders above other similar games. The story is upped the ante aswell with some big reveals although some might dislike the historical inaccuracy on display with such bombastic actions scenes.
Summary: Sorry about this, but i've just started playing online on PS3 again after some time off, and find all kinds of weird stuff happening! I'm getting on-screen messages to log onto different websites and it seems almost as if when killed, i'm morphing straight back in front of someone who kills me again. I've also taken headshots and some people seem to be bulletproof. Has anyone else experienced this? It's enough to make me quit online play. ...
Conclusion: ....but let down by the way it runs on many peep's computers. I had to upgrade my cpu to a quadcore to get this to run smoothly. Other than that, I think the game is good, being a 44yr old male that only plays the campaign mode this review is only for that. I don't play the multiplayer so cannot comment. Provided your pc meets the title's minimum spec it should play decently. Just enjoy .
Conclusion: Modern Warfare 2 is better than this game in virtually every way. Better engine, better gameplay, better graphics, better online play, better maps... This game just feels far too 'noob friendly'. I'm all for attracting new players to the franchise, but not at the expense of quality gameplay and balance.
Conclusion: I'm an avid fan of all the Call of Duty range, but without doubt it feels as though they've rushed to put this together. Graphics, engine and storyline are all of a lower level than Modern Warfare 2 that was released a year ago. Thanks to Steam, it also informed me I'd played and completed the main single player campaign within 4.5 hours.
