Pass on this

Brian S., Newegg

  • Summary: If you are looking for a low profile cooler that really works and priced much better check out the Logisys/Deepcool Beta 400ST. If you have room for a tower cooler get a CM 212 evo for the same price as the Scythe
  • Pros: Low profile, much quieter than a FX8350 cooler and it LOOKS like it would work really well.
  • Cons: I was using a stock FX 8350 cooler on my FX4100@4.4GHz. Failed to outperform the stock FX8350 cooler. At $35 I really expected more.

Easy Install

Angela R., Newegg

  • Summary: It covers most of the memory modules on my Asus M4A89GTD Pro/USB3 motherboard - so I should install the memory first.
  • Pros: Easy to install. Works great. I have installed several CPU coolers (on AMD processors) and this was by fair the easiest to install. It seams to keeping my phenom II x4 980 cpu cool. I'm not a gamer, so I have not overclocked it.

  • Excerpt: Low Height is good for a HTPC develop. Can be noisy at 100% fan speed. (see beneath) Employed this in a Moneual 320 HTPC case and it fit effectively, but did use up every single final bit of space. The fan can variety from silent (at about 40-50%) to noisy (at 80- 100%).

  • Excerpt: Quiet and low height needs, so it operates nicely in the smaller-kind element case. Simple assembly, and it comes with adapters for many sockets. I run it with a Core i7 and have no troubles so far. None

  • Excerpt: looks wicked cool, fits my slim case Fan worked for the very first few hours and then died. Confirmed the fan is broken by using a known very good fan on the very same motherboard fan plug.

  • Excerpt: Compact heat pipe cooler assembly. Universal fit. 4 wire fan died after two days of usage. Will be difficult to locate a replacement as the fan is only 12mm ƓǞth") thick. Directions had been in Japanese. The AMD Phenom II survived the 177F ࿰+C) like a champ.

  • Excerpt: I appreciate it. I replaced a Thermaltake stock sort answer with the Shuriken. It's quiet, has a very good variable fan, and probably least importantly, it appears amazing. I'm working with this with an Asus M4A785TD-M EVO uATX Motherboard.

  • Excerpt: -cools my Core 2 Duo E7400 far better than the stock cooler; I've yet to see it spin up to 40%, even following gaming for a couple of hours (have yet to see my CPU temp get above 35 degrees C even with the fan spinning slowly).
