Summary: I read about this fan in silent pc review. This is their only top rated 120mm fan that is available on newegg. I installed this in my wife's computer, and when she first booted, she told me "it won't turn on!". The system was so quiet with this fan she didn't realize it was actually powered up!
Pros: This is an excellent fan. It is inaudible unless you have your ear up against the case. Airflow is decent. As to the reviewer below, I don't know why you would need instructions to install a fan... Bolt on, plug in, you're done. Also there IS an arrow showing airflow direction... it is just small...
Cons: None. Perfect for a system without huge cooling needs.
Summary: Just a retort to the review saying these aren't as good as older Scythe offerings. These are actually much better than the S-FLEX fans they replace. The advertised specs are lower, but they are conservative. For example it's claimed these fans use .38A at 12V...that's simply not true.
Pros: Very quiet compared to other fans. Fairly efficient, low starting voltage around 2.5V. Perfect for use with a fan controller. Rigid construction and no bearing noise.
Summary: Out of 4 of these fans 3 worked flawlessly, the 4th one works great but if I put my ear basically right next to it when it's in my case I can hear a slight clicking noise that sounds like the fan blade might be hitting something, could be hitting up against a cable or my dust filter, but it seems to...
Pros: - Quiet, Quiet, Quiet <3 - Low airflow (less dust) - EX-FDP, I run my fans at 100% 24/7 and my system is on nearly 24/7 so this will help keep them running smoothly - 120k hours of life (Over 13 years)
Cons: - Price? You get what you pay for though - Low airflow? (If you need higher CFM don't get this) - Unsleeved cables don't look as good
Summary: If you want to be like most people, buy a $5 fan and mount it with screws, then complain on the product page about it being noisy and failing after six months. If you want to be smarter than most people, buy this fan and rubber mount it, and enjoy quietly worrying about one less thing in your case.
Pros: Still working like the day I bought it a year later. Moves as much air as any other 92mm fan, but the noise is much less pronounced with a much longer lifespan than most. If you want it to be truly quiet, you absolutely need to ditch the included screws and install it with rubber mounts instead. ...
Cons: When I had it screw-mounted, it created horrible bearing noise due to the thin sheet metal in my case vibrating.
