The LG GSA-H55N is a 20x super multi DVD rewriter which features data security with the LG Super Multi Security. It is compatible with all DVD and CD formats and has Dirct Disc Labeling Support. The LG GSA-H55N measures 148 x 42 x 17 mm (W x D x H) and weighs 800g maximum.

The LG GSA-H55N incorporates SecurDisc Technology which has been jointly developed by LG and Nero and is an innovative hardware/ software package, based on security technology which provides reliable and highly secure data protection and content access control for data recorded on regular CD and DVD formats. For safety purposes, the LG GSA-H55N has password protection to avoid unauthorized usage. It also has Digital Signature, Data Reliability and Data Integrity Check as well as Copy Protection which however, supports PDF files only. It supports write methods such as random write, disc at once, incremental recording, restricted overwrite (DVD-RW only), sequential recording, session at once, track at once and packet writing. The LG GSA-H55N has an average access time of 140/ 175 ms for DVD-ROM and 120 ms for CD-ROM as well as a buffer size of 2 MB. The LG GSA-H55N uses a loading tray and a X3T13 ATA/ ATAPI 5/ 1321 D. It also has a sustained transfer rate of 22.16 Mbytes per second at a maximum of 16x for DVD-ROM and 7,200 kB per second at maximum of 48x for CD-ROM.
