The Samsung CLX-3175FN is a multifunctional printer/copier/scanner/fax with a maximum speed of up to 16 ppm in A4 (17 ppm in letter/black) and up to 4 ppm in A4 (4 ppm in letter) for colour. Its first print out time is 14 seconds (mono) and 26 seconds (colour). It print up to 2,400 x 600 dpi effective output resolution and has Duplex Printing on both sides of a two-sided document. As a copier the unit has a zoom rate of 25 ~ 400 % for platen, 25 ~ 100 % for ADF and First Copy Out Time (Mono) of less than 18 seconds and less than 45 seconds for colour. It features ID Copy, Clone Copy, N-UP Copy, Poster Copy and is compatible with TWAIN standard, WIA standard (Windows2003/XP/Vista) Method scan technology. It is able to scan up to 1,200 x 1200 dpi resolution (4,800 x 4,800 dpi enhanced) and is able to store electronically converted documents to the designated destination like USB thumb memory, Networked server, etc. As a fax machine the unit has a 33.6 Kbps transfer rate with capability of printing up to 300 x 300 dpi (mono), up to 200 x 200 dpi (color). The maximum capacity and type of paper input tray is 150-sheet cassette and accepts 76 x 160 mm (3" x 6.3") ~ 216 x 356 mm (8.5" x 14") media size. It supports envelopes, labels, card stock, transparency, papers (pre-printed, glossy, punched, recycled) media type. The unit measures 16.3’’ x 14.7’’ x 13.5’’ and weighs 33.5 lbs.

It features one-touch functions, built-in one-touch functions gives fast copying features, including ID card, clone, N-up, auto fit and poster. USB Direct Printing and Scanning. A front USB port lets users scan and print files directly to and from a USB flash drive. Other features on this all-in-one multifunction printer are high-speed USB 2.0, Ethernet capability, and a distinctive finish. The black toner cartridge yields up to 1500 standard pages and up to 1000 standard pages for colour cartridge. This printer also features a 2-line LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) Displays and a 128 MB memory storage system. It is compatible with Windows 2000 / XP / 2003 / Vista, various Linux OS including Red Hat 8.0~9.0, Mandrake 9.2~10.1, SuSE 8.2~9.2 and Fedora Core 1~4, Mac OS X 10.3~10.5 and has USB, FireWire, Ethernet, ATA/IDE, SCSI and PCI, Hi-Speed USB 2.0, Ethernet 10/100 Base-TX connectivity.

    It looks like a small tank without tracks when you pull it out of the box... Weighs about 40 pounds... O also it sings when it first comes on.. and there are settings to turn on button sounds and whenever it finishes printing it makes a sound... another plus is that it lights up blue on the controls..     Except for printing, every function of this combo is troublesome. I had major headache getting fax to work over VOIP line. The tech support, including the guy who came to my house, was completely clueless. The software is quirky. I tried to customize the destination folders for scanned images. After that the scanning unit stopped working. I restored the original configuration but it didn't entirely fix the problem. E.g. my wife's scans regularly end up in my folder. Now... Read more

    Purchased a Samsung printer about a month and a half ago. All went well for two weeks and then I had a black mark on each and every printer sheet of paper. Call Samsung who arranged for an engineer to call. The engineer arrived and replaced the transfer belt as there was a piece of paper stuck in it.     I still haven't finished setting everything up, but so far it's looking good. The basics were easy to configure and setting it up to run over the network was pretty simple. The drivers and software take a little while to install but seem to work well. The provided software is a little clunky in terms of workflow / usability with some things not being as intuitive as they could be.
