Review Summary

According to Webuser.co.uk, the SanDisk Sansa View MP3 Player 16GB has a music and video player, FM radio, photo viewer and voice recorder for good measure. Backing up those functions, the device handles MP3, WAV, WMA and unprotected AAC 2audio files (MPEG4, WMV and H.264 videos) and JPEG photos. The music player is particularly well-organized, boasting playlist support and sorting tracks by artist, album, genre, rating, podcast, audiobook and recordings. Music-wise, the sound reproduction is very good and the FM radio reception is as good as listening to one’s own music files. Above all, it is the 2.4-in screen that really impresses users. The picture reproduction is excellent, making it easy to watch video even in bright light. It has a whopping 16GB of memory with MicroSD slot that makes extra expansion possible. Another amazing statistic is battery life which is 7 hours for videos and 35 hours of music is superior to any of the competitors. However, the obvious downside is that the device is not as well-styled and compact as the Apple best-seller, measuring about the length of the average mobile phone. There is also occasional slight pixilation of contours in the background when a number of different shades mix although it is a minor quibble and the problem rarely crops up. Complicated menu system, lacking base and uncomfortable headphones adds up the list. Overall, it might not make it top in the style stakes, but SanDisk's Sansa View has plenty to offer exactly where it counts because when it comes to music playing, it represents amazing value for money.

  • PLEASE HELP ME CHOOSE

Hi everyone. Please help me. My I -pod classic is now so frustrating I need to change it (freezing,stopping-horrible thing). So I'm after something similar but smaller preferably. My shortlist is SANSA VIEW 16GB = £70 ; SONY NWZ S639 16GB =£77 ;SAMSUNG Q2 16GB =£60.I find the Sony quite small, but if it's that good I would go for it. I like the Sansa as it feels like I'm holding something and seems so versatile but people seem reluctant to like it cos its not an Ipod. The Samsung seems plasticky but phone size and quite nice. I'm drawn to the Sansa so is it any good, but sensible head says Sony. HELP ANYONE ANYWHERE.Oh I doubt movies will be watched but I'll definately view pics and I've a reasonable music collection that grows slowly. l.scrivener@ntlworld.com - I'd like to buy by the end of the week. Thanks

I would say go for the SanDisk Sansa View since you're pretty determine about it.
