Review Summary

The extraordinary SanDisk Sansa Clip MP3 Player is the latest in non-iPod portable music players. The SanDisk Sansa Clip comes in 2GB and 1GB versions, and both are very light, less than an ounce and are merely two inches wide. It is quite a minuscule device, measuring 56 x 36 x 13mm, but still manages to pack in a 25mm LED display screen. Three colours are available, namely black, red and blue. The OLED displays the menu options for navigation and shows what is playing. The FM tuner is better than some …

The FM tuner is better than some more expensive players. Another welcoming feature is the voice recorder, this makes recording of radio programmes a child’s play. The included ear buds are good quality. The SanDisk Sansa Clip supports and plays MP3, WAV and WMA formats. At the back of the device there is a clip which is handy if you want to clip the player to your belt and there is also a lock. Reviewers from howstuffworks.com are mostly satisfied with the SanDisk Sansa Clip even though they are not too happy with the Clip’s scroll wheel. Usually the functions are located on the wheel and it lights up when in use, however the wheel itself is just for show, while volume controls are on the side. The volume, though is loud and clear.

If absolute compactness of design is what you are after the Clip doesn't really put a foot wrong. Its small, light, easy to use and pumps out a decent enough sound while the clip provides a simple and secure way of attaching the player to your person without making you look too much of a boob. Whether you leave your Christmas shopping to the last minute, or everything's signed, sealed and delivered online already, there will always be some last minute panic-buying to be done. Stocking fillers, in particular, aren't usually planned in advance, but a little bit of inspiration can go a long way when the big day finally rolls around. Read more
