The Samsung YP-Q1 features a Digital music player that comes with either 4GB, 8GB or 16GB of storage capacity on its internal flash memory, a physical lock switch on the right-hand side and provides a built-in 5-band equalizer plus 12 factory preset equalizer (Normal; Studio; Rock; Classical; Jazz; Ballad; Club; Rythm & Blues; Dance; Cafe; Concert; Church). The player also supports digital format such as FLAC, OGG, MP3, and WMA (protected and un protected) file formats, as well as JPEG photo playback, plus it is bundled with the Samsung Media Studio software, and also support Windows Media Video files with 320x240-pixel resolutions, at a range of bit rates up to 768Kbps. The Samsung YP-Q1 has built-in colour QVGA LCD display that measures 61mm (2.4-inch) with 240-by-320-pixels resolution, Back-light display, plus enables user to navigate by folder and search by ID3 tags function (all songs, artist, album, genre, release year, play-list, and folder). It is fitted with a Digital FM radio tuner, support for BBC iPlayer downloads (the iPlayer library is freely downloadable), supports album artwork, plus voice recording function with integrated mono microphone that enables user to record personal notes and memos, also records favourites broadcast stations. It also uses Antenna headphones, Headphone type 3.5mm, USB cables, a USB (4 PIN USB Type A) and it also has external hard drive function. It is also compatible with Windows XP or higher (Vista); UMS: Windows 2000, Windows XP or higher (Vista). It is powered by the built-in Lithium-polymer rechargeable battery and when fully charged, it is sufficient to power the device up to 30 hours of audio playback and 4 hours of video playback. It measures in at 98mm in height, 50mm in width, 11mm in depth and 61 grams in weight.

Up until now Samsung's success in the TV, mobile phone, monitor and laptop markets hasn't really been matched by its portable audio division. True, we've seen some glamorous and innovative players, and Samsung is nothing if not a prolific manufacturer, but we've yet to see a Samsung player that could really capture and hold our attention - until now. I brought this used YP-Q1 from Amazon, but the battery life was only 15hrs for music playback. The seller gave me the full refund(and let me keep the player) as no replacement battery could be found, and I called this customer service to its best. Back to the YP-Q1 player: (1) the clarity of the sound is very good, but the bass is a little bit weak with the supplied earphone. However, with a better earphone the sound is excellent, so may be a small investment on a better... Read more
samsungs YP-Q1 mp3 player is ok. it has a few minor bug of wich needed to be fixed before shipping, the guide buttons that are all touch senseative, wich add's to the players style but with these buttons i found that they can get annoying and they are so sensetive it unreal. apart from that the YP-Q1 has a brilliantly clear 2.4" display. wich is very usefull for waching all videos. the sound quality on this player is extremely clear with DNSe and an audio upscaller, the...
