According to Pcadvisor.co.uk, the Samsung YP-P2 multimedia player looks like a slightly smaller and skinnier version of Apple’s flagship MP3 player. Like the iPod touch, it provides a touch screen for navigation. Available in 4GB and 8GB flavours, it features a crisp and colorful 3” widescreen (480-by-272-pixel) display, which makes video viewing a pseudo-cinematic experience. Its abundant EQ settings and audio presets are ideal for people who love tweaking audio settings. Bluetooth 2.0 connectivity can even be paired with a set of Bluetooth headsets or speakers, which demonstrated good wireless range. The Samsung YP-P2 is packed with adjustment options, including a full manual control (if desired) over the 10 EQ settings, 4 manual bass settings, and a 3D sound control that generally improves audio richness. Users can also choose any of the 6 captivating onscreen visual options while the music is playing. One of the setbacks is users need some time to totally get used with the Menu navigation. Digital video download support is also restricted to only CinemaNow and Vongo. Some think that the screen lacks the pinching and multi-touch gesturing features of Apple’s touch screens. To select Menu items, users need to double-tap them, which is a frustratingly redundant step for a touch-screen. The bundled ear buds also favor treble while offering a merely low end quality. As a conclusion, it is somewhat secondary option for anyone seeking a better overall experience like the iPod touch which is better in terms of navigation, design, and touch-screen experience.
Imagine the power of touch Only 9.9mm in depth, the YP-P2 showcases an expansive 3” widescreen for great viewing pleasure. Its high resolution screen displays 30 frames per second in DVD movie form…
Good points: Great looks; good sound quality; solid build Bad points: Limited video playback, flaky software Overall: The sound quality alone makes it worth considering unless video is your only interest Read more
The Samsung YP-P2's wide aspect ratio and superb screen support great viewing, while excellent audio quality and an abundance of equaliser options are major draws for serious sound buffs. It's a somewhat pricey option for anyone seeking a better overall experience than the iPod touch provides, along with integrated Bluetooth connectivity. The navigation, design, and touch-screen experience fall short of Apple's latest, though. Read more
I'm willing to overlook the niggles because I like the YP-P2 a lot. Not only is it an extremely attractive and well-built device, it's also easy to use, is stuffed with features - including that Bluetooth functionality - and has superb sound quality and a wonderful screen. In its 8GB guise it is a little more expensive than the nano, but if you've fallen in love with the touchscreen way of doing things and just can't bring yourself to pay £200 for the 8GB iPod Touch,... The Samsung YP-P2 is a well-designed player and distinctly affordable for what it does. The only problem is that what it does just isn't as impressive as it could be. It sounds great and it's easy to use, but the lack of support for audio and video formats seriously hinders just how attractive an alternative this is to players from Cowon and Apple Read more

The Samsung YP-P2, was originally seen as a rival to the iPod touch; this defiantly isn't the case. Samsung in their YP-P2 have been very original and creative in some aspects but, in others just 'hopped-on' the general modern interface bandwagon. The main advantages of the YP-P2 are it's large hard disk capacity, ability to play very high quality video's effortlessly with an outstanding frame rate and it's fantastic battery life even after playing movies or listening...
