Review Summary
The P2 is distinctly pleasing in the eye, with a sleek slim casing surrounding a hefty 3” touch screen with 480x272 resolutions. The model, which is available in 2GB, 4GB and 8GB versions, comes in black, wine red or white and users touch their way through the controls and access video, music, pictures, and listen to radio via the OLED WQVGA screen. As well as supporting MP3 and WMA music formats, the P2 can also play WMV and MP4 video files. The claimed 5 hours of movie playback stood up well after multiple proven tests. That is not all, as Samsung also packs in an FM radio, Bluetooth and the ability to store JPEG images. Sound is both clear and detailed, while the large screen and sharpness of the picture provides a superb canvas for watching videos. Not intenting on just giving you a headphone jack to connect the included headphones, the Samsung P2 also sports Bluetooth 2.0 meaning users can ditch the cables and get the wireless headsets instead. It is also compatible with subscription services via Windows Media Player 10. Pocket-lint.co.uk also highlighted that the battery life, thanks to that OLED, is a whopping 35 hours of music playback .The only problem we had in relation to watching movies was smudges that are inherent with touch screen players and the radio reception can be a little sketchy at times. As a conclusion, it is an excellent buy if users are able to look over the minor drawbacks.

Touchscreen MP3 player
Reviewer: Pocket Lint20 February 2008- Overall 9

Samsung has produced a really good offering here that provides plenty of features like Bluetooth, a radio and a screen that, although small, is still suitable for watching video, as well as a device that gives good rounded sound. With no issues about software compatibility (it's drag and drop), this is a great alternative to Apple's current iPod range. Read more

Sumvision ice 1000 vs Cowon D2
I was about to get a Cowon D2 (but considering the various similar ones like the Samsung P2, etc.). Then I saw the Sumvision. Apart from some minor (for me) features, it seems on paper like the same facilities but half the price. So, does anyone have comments on the Sumvision player - what is the audio quality and build quality like? Is the batte...
