A superb package that has 'value for money' written all over it, Creative's Zen Stone Plus With Built-In Speaker is pretty much an iPod shuffle plus a screen – and the bonus of a small speaker. The Zen Stone Plus is a great little MP3 player that will support a number of file formats including unprotected AAC files (including iTunes Plus). We loved the first iteration here at Pocket-lint and the addition of the speaker is a welcome one. It's not going to be enough to provide music for a party, but in a hotel room or like a chav on the back of the bus, this will do nicely. Read more

...nge, the M18 model in particular. Not exactly a stellar player as it is entry level, but it would fit your criteria (that is if it worked properly with Windows ME). There's also the Sumvision GIO to consider. The other ones I would recommend would be the Creative Zen Stone Plus or the Sandisk Sansa Clip, but it would be more tricky to get drivers for those.

Won an MP3 player - but where is it??
I wrote a letter in October last year to a computer magazine. In the first week of November I was delighted to see that not only was it printed, it was chosen as the "Star letter"!!
