In today’s world, size is everything that matters. Be it mobiles or MP3 players, it’s on the pocket-sized that all are eager to get their hands on. The Apple iPod Shuffle has been described as the smallest available MP3 player in the world by many. Measuring at 41*27*10.5mm, and weighing only 15 g, the Apple iPod Shuffle holds true its description as the puniest. Fashioned from aluminium, it includes a built-in clip, which allows one to fasten the device to a pocket, belt or shirt. The Shuffle aids AAC, WAV, and AIFF formats. To make up for the lack of display and the inability to play videos, is the superior sound quality. Unlike the iPod Nano, which includes its own USB adapter, the Shuffle accommodates a USB 2.0 dock, which can be connected to the computer for charging. The battery will live up to an estimate of 12 hours.

Armed with a 1GB memory, the Shuffle can be loaded with up to 240 songs. The music will be played either the way it was selected, or as the name suggests, in a shuffled manner. The Shuffle is the only iPod provided with a customary dock, which matches in size with the player. The quality of the headphones supplied by Apple not being satisfactory, audio fidelity can be improved with earbuds of ones own choice. The sleekness of design is evident from the manner in which the controls and two LEDs are contained at the top and bottom of the device. The purpose of the LEDs is explained with the help of a credit-card sized card provided by Apple along with the device. The Apple iPod Shuffle is an ideal companion for those who merge two hobbies, listening to music and exercising. So be sure to check this product out the next time you go shopping.

The basic format and design of Apple's revolutionary iPod has remained unchanged over the years and despite many pretenders to the throne, its popularity has never waned. It's a design classic and Apple has wisely declined to mess with it. Read more

Just as people are getting used to the ability to squeeze entire music collections into ever-smaller players, the micro-sized iPod shuffle is sure to elicit "wows" from friends and family. It's also a dead-cert for Christmas lists, and at an amazing £32 marks an affordable entry point into digital music, and of course a real winner with joggers, gym nuts and the super cool. Read more

Verdict Serious music lovers will desire the flexibility of a higher-end player, which can hold significantly more music, let you browse for the tunes you want and tell you what you're listening to. For more casual listeners though, the Shuffle is a good balance between price, functionality and ease of use. Read more

OK you won't get your whole music library on it but that is not the point. This is a lightweight, small, reliable and sexy music player designed for people on the move. In that respect it is a massive success and a great product that really delivers! Just a shame about the price! All in, I would highly recommend it and recommend getting yours for free from the BBC and CNN backed Gadget 4 Free - get it in time for Xmas! Just copy and paste - www.gadget4free.com Read more

I got given one of these (the blue 2Gb one to be precise) completely out of the blue. I didn't ask for one and would not have planned to buy one out of choice, but I thought i's give it a spin, how fun it is! I've got over 37Gb of music on iTunes, and currently have a 1st gen Ipod touch, but seeing as it was free, it'd be a nice addition to the collection. Plugged it in, set it up, hit autofill, done! Its that easy, as I like all typs of music, I don't mind what's being... Read more
