This is a hard drive driven package of pleasurable playing. Increasing its battery life to 20 hours for music and six and a half hours for videos, the iPod is slowly but surely coming off the ‘bash’ list. Apple hopes this will bring the player back into the graces of the more than generous public demanding more zip and go than ever. If it does make good come back, it will probably be due to its relationship with iTunes. With it being the easiest software to use, and Apple boasting a screen that is now sixty percent brighter, this iPod is expected to take huge strides in a short time.
The massive size of its hard drive is causing this iPod to gain speed as it whizzes past the smaller 1 Gig players. However, not much about its looks have changed. It still has the sleek, sexy look one comes to expect when using Apple products. It is still as easy scratch as always which makes it hard to understand why they don’t do something about that. But, like most of us, the average consumer will accept this and wind up purchasing a protective cover which will give that ‘personal’ touch as we are prone to customize (mark-up) the soft covers to suit us. Apple could take a cue from Cowon or Archos on video watching. The little screen gets very difficult to focus on while watching a video with any length to it. A stand or larger viewing screen would be great. The only other thing recommended to Apple is to include an iTunes installation CD for those who are not connected to the Internet.

I already own a which is great, but I wanted something extra. The shuffle is perfect for the gym, but I wanted an MP3 player that could store most, if not all, of my CD collection. I was also interested in being able to store all my photos on the iPod too. 30Gb was ample for my needs. At the time at purchase I was debating whether to buy the 30Gb or 80Gb version. I’m glad I went for the 30Gb version. It is slimmer and lighter than the 80Gb, although if you’ve got a... Read more
If you're short on space, or you don't want a stereo system dominating your living room, the iPod Hi-Fi makes a compelling alternative to a full-blown separates system. It's loud, and it's clean-sounding. Fixed stereo speakers like these are always a compromise, but auditioning the Hi-Fi with acoustic tracks proves its mettle Read more
The iPod Classic 80Gb version was appealing as soon as it came out of it's box. Shiny and beautiful, with sleek lines and smooth buttons and touch sensitive jog wheel was a vast improvement upon the older white plastic ipods of yesteryear, impressed with it's 80Gb capacity and the ability to playback all my films (once converted to MP4). I have a large collection of MP3 format files that I've converted over the years from my Vinyl collection. and was genuinely amazed... Read more
I agree with the your review on the 80GB Classic. I have recently replaced my 2nd gen 4GB nano with the 80GB Classic, with a top quality Incase leather sleeve which adds superb protection for the Ipod. But as so many people have said in the past the supplied headphones are ok but an upgrade to a decent pair of phones makes all the difference in sound quality. I have chosen a pair of Sennheiser PX100's which for the money are Superb. Read more

The Apple Ipod earphones are possibly the best set of earphones I've ever used. The ones I had lasted me a little over two and a half years. They definatly can withstand some abuse, my Ipod tends to go with me everywhere I go, so they definatly saw some use. Still after the two and a half year mark they maintained their clear, articulate tone, the only reason I got rid of them is the left one died. They fit nice and snug, never fall out, even when jogging or doing some... Read more
