The HP w2408h is a 24-inch monitor seemingly designed for use by graphics professional with its high 92 percent colour gamut and flexible viewing modes. The outer look has a glossy bezel and finish, a mixture of the colors, black and silver with a green backlit power button sitting at the top of the display. On the left hand side of the bezel is the ambient light sensor that will adjust display brightness based on light conditions, though if you make manual adjustments this turns itself off.The stand is height adjustable and will also flip into portrait mode and also there are clasps to hold your cables in place. This monitor has the dimensions of 500 x 586 x 289 mm (H x W x D) and weights 9.8 kg. The monitor can rotate, height can be adjusted and there’s the swivel and tilt function.
The 24-inch panel itself boasts a 5ms response time (on to off) and HP’s BrightView Technology for better contrast. It has a resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels. For connecting PCs and other digital equipment, the monitor comes with an HDMI port with HDCP support — for decoding 1080p content. A set of onboard speakers (2 x 2W) which can decode HDMI audio, and four USB ports including two on the side are featured. For connectivity, there’s the video input type, plus, VGA and HDMI. Viewing in the display while horizontal is 160 degrees, vertical is 160 degrees. Contrast ratio is 1000:1 and dot pitch is 0.270 mm. Maximum resolution is 1920 x 1200 pixels. The size of the monitor is 24 inch. Pixel response time is 5 ms. Vertical Refresh Rate is 48 ~ 85Hz. Horizontal Frequency is 24 ~ 94 KHz. Input Video Signal is VGA. Overall performance is very good, and it works out of the box with little in the way of set-up needed. The size makes this an idea accompaniment for those doing design work, or just wanting to view two A4 pages full size on the screen at one time. HP's w2408h offers a wealth of attractive features, such as HDMI with HDCP, pivot, height adjustment, rotation, four USB ports and speakers. It may not break any records in the picture quality stakes but the image quality is still decent, and unless you're a specialist user, for the price, this large, high resolution display is simply a great buy.
