BenQ’s last 24" monitor wasn’t that special – in fact a lot of BenQ’s we’ve seen simply weren’t up to scratch, so imagine our surprise when the best 24" monitor so far simply sauntered into our labs. Read more

The BenQ doesn't offer the rich, complex colours of the Samsung SyncMaster 244T, nor the sleek style of the Dell 2407FPW, but it's cheaper than both of these screens. It isn't a bad monitor and redeems itself in other areas, most notably in games, which were punchy and detailed, with intense lighting effects. If you're looking for a 24in screen for gaming that won't break the bank, the BenQ should be on your shortlist, although it's worth checking to see if Dell has the... Read more

All in all, then, we felt that the BenQ FP241W held up well against the competition. Documentation was good, and the necessary leads were supplied. Read more

  4. BenQ FP241W 24in Widescreen Monitor

At the end of March I looked at the Samsung SyncMaster 244T and was amazed at how much it offered considering the price. At the time, finding a good 24in 1,920 x 1,200 monitor for around £800 was quite impressive, but it seems that things have moved on considerably since then. Sitting on my desk right now is the BenQ FP241W 24in monitor, which has even more tricks up its sleeve, while hitting a price point that makes the Samsung look expensive. Read more

Those looking for the creme de la creme of widescreen monitors should definitely consider the FP241W. It runs at full 1080p resolution, has awesome picture quality, plenty of video inputs and is good value for money Read more

Pin-Sharp, great colours, minimal back-light bleeding, the range of inputs is incredible. The only downside is the lack of 1:1 scaling, but that's just because I was too impatient to wait for the FP241WZ. A big price jump from 22" screens, but all 24" cost a proverbial arm and a leg, so it's normal I s'pose. Read more

This review is from: BenQ FP241W - Flat panel display - TFT - 24" - widescreen - 1920 x 1200 - 500 cd/m2 - 1000:1 - 6 ms - 0.27 mm - HDMI, DVI-D, VGA - silver black (Electronics) This high definition monitor is excellent in all respects. Whilst it is a large screen, the desk space required to stand it on is proportionately less. It is easily assembled and set up, fully adjustable and produces faithful colours. I understand that BenQ are discontinuing this model and that... Read more

A friend of mine bought one on my recommendation having read reviews, I saw it and instantly decided to upgrade from my 21. It was worth it, neither of us have had any problems with them, the range of inputs is incredibly useful as is the 1:1 1080p pixel mapping - 360, Blu Ray, PS3, HD-DVD have all been put through our monitors and all look beautiful. The other reviewer mentioned black-outs, this is not something I have come across while researching this screen, and is... Read more
