Black Box 16 x V.34 is a card cage for the placement of hot-swappable BR-Sereis modems (BR and BLR models). Its features are placement of a hot-swappable power supply and up to 16 modems.

Features

The Black Box 16 x V.34 is able to hold and power up to 16 BR series modem or DSU cards with a single power outlet. It can hold a second power supply for backup so that the system stays connected when power supply fails. The card cage provides connections for power, data ports and phone line or digital service through a common backplane. It is equipped with 16 DB-25 (female) data ports, 16 RJ-11 jacks and 50-pin (male) connectors for RJ21 connection. The data ports connectors can be used for synchronous data transfer to modem and able to operate with RS232C/D or V.35 interface. With its "hot-swappable" feature, modems and DSU cards can be installed, removed or replaced without powering down the card cage. The power supplies are hot-swappable as well. The BR series modems housed in cage complies with enhanced V.34 standards and with a data transfer rate up to 33.6Kbps. The modems support facsimile transmission and reception with a data transfer rate up to 14.4Kbps. They are equipped with features such as automatic dial-up, speed conversion, automatic rate detection, and remote configuration. It measures 48 x18 x 37.5cm in dimension and weighs 5.4kg.
