  • Summary: I saw this phone in the store and it sounded good. All I would use it for is texting, the internet and the occasional app or game. The price appealed to me, at just £59.95. I was slightly worried about how small it seemed, but didn't worry overly about it. Getting the phone home, I placed the battery and my old sim card into it and switched it on. The first thing I noticed were the graphics. My eyes felt sore as I tried to study the letters on the screen.
  • Pros: Stylish-looking, feels nice in the hand and overall cosmetics are okay.
  • Cons: Tiny screen, bad resolution.

A good first phone

  • Excerpt: "In my opinion, the samsung galaxy y is a good phone, especially if it's your first time buying an android. If you're not one of those up to date phone geeks who only buy the latest gadgets for the sake of owning something new and shiny, then this phone is suitable for you. It's basic, easy to use and it can pretty much do what those other phones can do. The only thing is that the screen is a bit small, so reading might be a little bit difficult. ...
  • Pros: phone calls, wifi, light and easy to carry,
  • Cons: music player on headphones, performance, game speed,

Samsung Galaxy Y PAYG Smart phone

Liz, Amazon
16 December 2013
  • Summary: Received my phone today and am thrilled to bits with it. This is my first Smartphone and found it incredibly easy to set up and was texting within minutes (I'm 74)! I do need a stylus as the keyboard is a little small for ageing fingers. The phone came with several different coloured backs for even more Street cred. So far, highly recommended.

Does what it says on the tin!

  • Summary: Bought two of these; one for my 14yr old and one for my 11yr old, who saved up desperately in order to be allowed one!! Seem easy enough to use, although my younger one complains that it's difficult to hang up if the person you are talking to is not in your contact list.
