In spite of looking slightly disappointing, the Galaxy is right up there with the HTC Magic. It has all the responsiveness and stability you’d expect from the Android OS. The interface could do with some extra work to make it still easier to navigate. Read more
Great internet and video features, but email isn’t as full-featured as in other Android devices, especially with a slow touch-keyboard Read more
The video and internet features ar excellent, but email could do with more synching options, and the on-screen keyboard may put you off typing too much. Read more
Samsung has brought some crave-worthy hardware features to its first Android handset, the Galaxy i7500, like a gorgeous screen, good camera and plenty of on-board memory. But it runs on the bog-standard version of Android, which means it lacks multi-touch and fun custom widgets like we've seen on other phones. It also looks slightly dull. Overall, the Galaxy fails to reach the heady heights of the HTC Hero, but it's a strong competitor to the HTC Magic Read more
Well what can we say about the Samsung i7500 mobile phone other than it is definitely stylish and packed full of all modern day technologies. It is the new Android operating system technology that will really get users to take note of this new handset, as when it comes to Android it is the HTC camp to offer this to us first. Well done Samsung for presenting us with a very up to the minute mobile phone. The i7500 does lack in some areas with its abilities for example... Read more
I have purchased the samsung galaxy, but the battery drives me insane. I am lucky if it lasts a day and a half and this is when it is on the 2G network, if I use 3G I am lucky if it lasts for a day. This is without any usage as well, I tested the battery by purposefully by not using it and ended up sending it back, but my replacement lasts for the same amount of time. :-( Read more
Just an FYI, but Samsung have realised a couple of firmware upgrades since this phone was realised that have resolved some battery life problems, added a new app, and fixed some reliability issues. Read more
This is a great design. Unfortunately the usability lets it down badly. Samsung informs me that it will only communicate by Bluetooth with other Android equipment & if you want to use the PC software, forget it. It is an unsupported device. Lovely phone but very limited use & no firmware upgrade available to fix the problems! Read more
Will never buy a Samsung phone again. SAMSUNG the whole point of Android and Open OS is that you regularly update them... Stuck for ever in Android 1.5 How could CNET give it 8? did the AMOLED dazzle you so you couldn't see its: 1. Terrible Battery Life. 2. Poor Keyboard. 3. Its inability to find a 3G network. The camera was alright and the Android/google connectivity was OK for 1.5. But Samsung just threw it out to the market with no support and no updates. Read more
I wouldn't recommend it. This may well be uniquely UK issue, but it's actually impossible to connect this phone to a pc as the New PC Studio (Samsung) software will not recognise the phone, thereby making it impossible to put music on it or, indeed, transfer anything between phone and pc. Samsung and O2 are both aware of these issues but, with no software upgrades in the offing, there seems little point in going anywhere near this turkey. Read more
