The Nokia 6300 like its other previous models has managed to garner very good reviews with few mishaps here and there. Few features that users have appreciated are the simple yet stylish design which is small and lightweight but feels comfortable in the hand. Nokia has been generous with the size of the screen, which is QVGA (320x240-pixel) bursting with 16 million colours of bright and clear interface. It also comes with a 7.8 MB internal memory and storage can be expanded through micro SD slot, giving up to 2GB. The 2MP camera performance is also above average. On the usage part, users agree that it is a good phone for voice calls and text messaging with hassle free performance, good quality and amazingly long lasting battery life up 2 weeks on standby mode, which is incredible. It also has non complicated features which is suitable for any kind of users. Despite all the good reviews, it still managed to gather a few complaints. According to stuff.tv, the music player is way far from Walkman standards. The screen is a bit small at just 2 inches but the headset connector, which is also the FM connector, is too big at 3.5mm. It is only a Tri-band GSM phone with GPRS and runs on Symbian Series 40, so the applications is not that sophisticated. The 2-megapixel camera also has neither a self portrait mirror nor flash. Users found that the buttons are at standard size but the D-pad is more of a hassle. As a conclusion, users found that this model is still a good option although it is not as feature-packed as some rivals such as Sony Ericson W880i.

The Nokia 6300 is a great phone if you are looking for just a phone. Of course as soon as you step away from this remit and want better quality pictures, dedicated music buttons, or 3G connectivity then it all starts to fall short. However as the 6300 never professes to be anything more than just offering the basics this will please many a mobile phone user just looking to make calls. Read more

Plug in the supplied headset and you get a very useful MP3 player. The sound here is again good, and support for stereo Bluetooth means that you could upgrade the audio quality further without the need for wires. Keeping the cabled headphones is not a bad plan, though, as this allows you to access the on-board FM radio. Read more
