See lessWe like the Diamond here at Pocket-lint and this takes all the things that we had concern with (screen size, expandable memory and megapixel count) and fixed them. The massively enlarged screen now means there is space for your fingers on the screen to navigate around Windows Mobile. The catch? Well it's large and Orange will probably make the interface unusable after they've played with it. If that's not enough, it's Microsoft Windows Mobile, which you either love or... Read more
Despite its reasonable bulk, the HTC Touch HD is a thing of beauty, most emphasised by its cracking HD display. However, the experience as a whole is disjointed with both the touch-screen and internet experience proving temperamental. Read more

The Touch Flo skin is efficient and pleasant to use. Windows Mobile (not adapted for touchscreen interface) is rather well hidden. However it still remains the operating system running the Touch HD, so you will have to make do with menus that are not always the most user-friendly and options that don’t really apply to the average consumer. During the course of my ownership SMS-Messaging has failed; on-line video rendering has failed; it has burned out two MicroSD Cards and required 2-battery replacements. While the device is primarily intended for a touch-screen market; the sensitivity of the resistive screen (or lack thereof) can make some interactions very difficult without having to rely on the... Weak phone receiver. Cellular radio crashes regularly and needs resetting via Comms Manager. Processor grossly overloaded so responses are aggravatingly slow. WM6 phone functions are total pants. The HTC front end is better but takes up too much RAM. Hardly ever get enough reception for internet, so no danger of getting anywhere near my 0.5GB/month on Orange. Tried downloading the latest ROM but HTC say it doesn't apply to my s/n. Great. Pluses: Great screen. GPS good. Read more
When my contract was due an upgrade last year, I spent ages looking around for the best touchscreen phone. I had never had a touchscreen phone before, so had spend a considerable amount of time, to find the best phone I could get at the time. It was a toss up between the HTC Touch HD and the iPhone, however, back then, the iPhone was only available on O2 and I cant stand O2, (Orange all the way) so I plumped for the Touch HD. The Design and layout of the phone. 4/5 The... Read more
