Review Summary

One of the things that you will be sure to love most about the RIM Blackberry Pearl 8100 is its overall lovely design. In fact, its design is very fashionable, which just may be one of the reasons that you become attracted to the RIM Blackberry Pearl 8100 mobile phone to begin with. Is definitely suitable for any pocket or purse, with its thin design. Although the screen of the camera is relatively small, there are a variety of different qualities which makes up for this. There are two buttons on the phone which you are able to set to the functions which you tend to use the most, which seems to be very convenient for most people. The RIM Blackberry Pearl 8100 has a pretty decent music player to offer you. One of the main benefits is the fact that you are able to set any song to be your ringtone. Unfortunately, this mobile phone is not very suitable for people who are interested in using their phone as their main source of photography. This is due to the fact that the built in camera that the RIM Blackberry Pearl 8100 has to offer is only decent. The mobile phone also does not have a video recording function, which is offered by most of the mobile phones that are currently out on the market. The battery on the RIM Blackberry Pearl 8100 has a pretty long life, even when you decide to play music for hours on end.

Overall, it is safe to say that the RIM Blackberry Pearl 8100 is an excellent mobile phone choice for anyone who wants a decent phone in general. However, the major quirk about this mobile phone is the fact that the camera is lacking, and that there is no video record function.

Pearl is the best BlackBerry yet. Full stop. It does everything RIM is famous for - seamless email and communication - and packs it into the same space as a normal mobile phone. Throw in the easy-to-use roller ball navigation and a built-in camera and it covers all the bases. If you want everything on the go, and want it now then the Pearl is currently the only handset on the market that ticks all the boxes. ® Read more

So does the Blackberry Pearl do its job? Well, as a consumer device, it's a definite success. It's slim, it looks great, ticks all the right boxes and adds the killer instant email feature. For kids who are on email all the time, its a great feature - and the fact that RIM is already starting to ship truckloads of these things seems to back that up. But email as a personal tool is on its way out, with social networks and instant messenger rapidly taking its place.... Read more

This is the finest SmartPhone I have every used. Period. It is a great phone, an amazing email device, a capable media player and a wonderful web surfer. The screen is beautiful, the Trackball is a joy to use (much better than a jog dial or D-Pad) and the Suretype keyboard works great. If you want all the multi-media features available - this might not be the best choice. If you want a great phone with the industries best email function, a terrific web experience and ... Read more

I decided to change my contract from 3 to o2, and as I needed a lot of minutes opted for meduim buniess plan with a Blackberry Pearl. I always need to be able to access emails quickly, and I'm always using mobile internet, so thought this would be useful. Didn't take long to get used to the rollerball, and although I think the qwerty keyboard is stupid (why bother? Am I going to put my mobile down on a desk and type at it with 2 hands like a keyboard? No. Then why mak... Read more

They generally only last about 3 months, either the software needs refreshing or buttons fall off or the screen becomes unclear or the Chrome decor falls off. The phone is designed to be left in the office. The device has two moisture detectors which they use as an excuse to invalidate the warranty. I am afraid it's a rip off. You have to buy four phones a year instead of one. If you take your phone back within 6 months of issue then the retailer will have to prove... Read more
