Sony has managed to pack every last bit of technology laying about the workshop into a breathtakingly svelte and simple one-box cinema system. It is featured with video up scaling up to 720p/1080i, 32-bit digital amplification and some neat wireless rear speakers that use the company’s latest digital infrared technology. It is a slim, gorgeous package lies in the tall, silver subwoofer. The sub is the pack mule of the system, holding on to all the heavy, unwieldy crap that goes with a high-end cinema system, allowing its better looking mates to make the most of their slender good looks. The picture is smooth and clean. Reviewers from stuff.tv stated that the system is a bit too expensive but it still succeeds better than its rivals at providing an intoxicating blend of high style and fine audio and visual performance. Consumers commented that it was an amazing system. Moreover, it is a top quality home cinema that is highly recommended. It delivers a good performance especially the up scaling performance. While some users said that it’s truly brilliant, coping so well with the dark scenes in the second Pirates of the Caribbean movie, for instance, that you’ll soon find you don’t mind the lack of 1080p.

If I had to be really picky I might have liked a fraction more fine detail and smoothness. The lack of decent onboard deinterlacing really slows this deck down. But for a standard RGB Scart performance, the LF1 is difficult to fault. One little general niggle, though,... Read more
I made the HUGE mistake of purchasing one of the units because I wanted a small, good looking home theater system for our bedroom. I can't say anything good about it, and the only neutral thing I can say about it is that it's design is "unconventional". Allow me to tell you why I am so utterly dissatisfied: I received the unit with 2 major malfunctions that made it essentially unusable- the DVD player skipped continuously on even new CD's and scratched the surface of... THIS SYSTEM IS GORGEOUS FOR ONE. ALSO, BUYERS SHOULD KNOW THAT THIS SYSTEM WAS APPARENTLY NOT MANUFACTURED FOR VOLUME, BUT FOR CLARITY. WE'VE HAD OTHER SURROUND SOUNDS, INCLUDING DREAM SYSTEMS AND OUT OF 40 VOLUME MAX, WE COULD PLAY IT FROM 15-20 FOR EXTREME VOLUME. THIS SYSTEM IS DIFFERENT. WE HAVE TO PLAY IT AROUND 30-35 FOR THE EQUAL EFFECT. THING IS, IT ISN'T A PROBLEM BEACUSE THE CLEARNESS AND CLARITY OF THE SOUND IS UNBELIEVABLE! IT MAKES THE LACK OF VOLUME WELL... Read more
If anyone can get their hands on this unit they should. It is no longer manufactured and all the units that Sony produces comes no where near the quality and design of this home theatre system. Read more
