Features

The Klipsch RF-82 is designed with a Tractrix Horns technology that includes improved throat geometry for a more genuine, lifelike sound combined with a professional-grade 1-inch titanium diaphragm compression driver with a large ceramic motor structure to provide a unique combination of precision, clarity and effortless power. The RF-82 has a dual 8-inch high output woofers with large motor structures for a solid bass foundation and greater control, output and power handling. These Cerametallic woofers with inverted copper dust caps exhibit a very high stiffness-to-mass ratio and superb damping characteristics. The RF-82’s cabinet offers improved internal cross-bracing to minimize panel vibrations that can color sound and twin rear-firing ports to eliminate turbulence noise. Increased baffle ribbing in the lower panel and around the horn mouth dramatically improve acoustics across the sonic range. For signal purity and perfect driver integration, the crossover on the RF-82 features the finest components and Klipsch custom internal wiring. The Klipsch RF-82 has a response bandwidth of up to 33Hz-23000Hz, approximately 3dB and peak power handling of 150W RMS, nominal power of 600W RMS. It also comes with 98dB @ 2.83V / 1m sensitivity, 8 ohms compatible nominal impedance and high frequency crossover of 2000Hz. Apart from that, the RF-82 has an amplification type of 2-way passive and it uses the wired connectivity technology. The RF-82 measures at 24.1cm in width, 41.3cm in depth and 110.7cm in height (with stand) and it weights in at 30kg.

I bought these speakers and hooked them up to my Onkyo receiver. The RF-82's are one of the best speakers I have ever heard in this price range. You have to buy a good receiver though if you go for these speakers. The bass is very powerfull and some would probably feel they don't even need a sub. These speakers can shake our entire three flat in the city if need be. Read more

After a long exposure to smaller RF-62 my conclusion is that this speaker will reward you with astounding dynamics and transparency with a feeling of "being there" rarely achieved. Yes, they can sound a bit aggressive and overblown in the bass, but hook them to a good valve amp (like a PrimaLuna) and you will enjoy music (and movies!) like never before. And remember they need a long run-in and sufficient room to breathe. Read more

It took me over a year of looking at speakers before I made my decision. Can't be happier with my decision. These speakers are great. These speakers replaced a set of Bose acoustimass speakers and let me tell you there is no comparison. While the Bose speakers were ok for watching most movies they fell flat on there face when it came time to listen to music. Everything I listen to on these speakers sounds great. The bass with the twin 8" woofers is great. Overall sound... Read more

Uuuh...Huh huh.... cool. Otherwise I'm speachless. I am buying two more for the rear channels and driving all of the neighbors for blocks out of their brains. Louder than the giant speakers from the 80's when I was a teen, but sound quality is the best I have heard, of course I coupled with a $4000 Denon (7.1ch) receiver and a Blu-ray player. Buy these and then watch Apocolyse Now or Predator and you might pee yourself from joy or fear...or both. Good Luck. Now I have to... Read more

I've always heard good things about Klipsch speakers. But three things sold me on them. 1- several people told me "those were the speakers to have when I was in college" that was over 30 years ago and the speakers still sound great. 2- I went to the local store and heard them compared to the 30 year speakers and wow! 3- JR had the best prices around.
