I bought these speakers and hooked them up to my Onkyo receiver. The RF-82's are one of the best speakers I have ever heard in this price range. You have to buy a good receiver though if you go for these speakers. The bass is very powerfull and some would probably feel they don't even need a sub. These speakers can shake our entire three flat in the city if need be. Read more
I moved from satellites to these floor standing loud speakers but let me tell you I had five sat. and they don't even compare to just two of these. I can actually feel the bass hitting me when I turn it up. Everyone recommended these for HT but I find them very pleasing for music too. Alot of people say that the horns are bright but I didn't find the, bright at all. I love the detail these speakers provide from the pin drop the explosion nothing is left out. At first I... Ive upgraded my speakers from sony to klipsch. these speakers are great sounding speakers. Ive hooked this into TX-SR706 Onkyo receiver (100 watts per channel). Im impressed by the sound. These speakes have a nice finish. Overall very good speakers, when i bought these i also bought a pair of RS-52 surrounds and RW12D subwoofer, works very well with the combination. Cons : Speakers are heavy, rather than that these speakers are great. After using these speakers, made me a... Read more
I bought these floorstanding speakers two months ago, and I have been using them since. After reading this review, I tested the speakers with the exact same song that was used for the test in this review (Not Fair by Lily Allen) and I must disagree with it saying that there is hardness in the vocals. Lily's voice is all but hard in my hi-fi system, and I do have a cheap 1979 integrated amplifier. I can only partially agree with the judgement over the very low-end (even... Read more
My RF-82 pair serve as a stand-alone units for music listening (I also have a Klipsch HD-1000 set up in a smaller area for watching video). The receiver, a Denon 830, is located in the video room about 50 feet away, but even with that long cable run the RF-82s are capable of filling the whole house with sound. The RF-82 is remarkably more efficient than previous speakers I've had in the same location (Altec Model 9, Bose 501, and an amazing but doomed pair of KEF 107s,... Read more
