Summary: I bought this unit for my dad and he loves it. He uses the sport trek to track his every ride. He had one prior to this one and he crashed and smashed. He wanted the same thing because he was familiar with how it worked.

has many great features not found on other gps would recomend

Summary: I have a few gps, but this one has several features not found on my other units. The sensitivity of the antenna is outstanding, with one of the fastest acquisition I've seen even in doors and under canopy. This is the only unit I have that allows headings in mills, and being able to set two navigation systems and two different datums is amazing, I can read position in lat/log and utm and could display them with different datum on the same screen.
Summary: Why I bought it: This GPSr was a great deal for the price I paid. Satellite acquisition is reasonably quick. For the beginner, intermediate user, this is quite suitable. What I like about it: It is compact in size for easy, light-weight handling, yet displays a screen size that is easy to read in bright daylight, although shading it affords a better screen view. All button on the front for easy use and set far enough apart for large fingers.
Summary: Bought unit to check out the series for boating use. Easy to use , quick, sensitive and accurate but very poor/unusable shoreline definition (and roads) with the limited memory data base. If used to just transfer lat/longs to paper charts, it is fine. Followed up by getting the Sportrak Pro (marine) model which is improved in this regard and also has the Nav Bouys which make that one a great value for the going prices.
Summary: I'm a hiker and a originally bought this as a replacement for my Magellan Meridian Gold. I wanted a simple GPS that had good maps. I dislike the fact that any decent maps cost more then the GPS! It wasn't worth it, and I resold this product.
Summary: The reviews on this item were very favorable and the gps met all the specs I was looking for. My son was very pleased. He bought another gps for his sister and used this purchase as his guide as to what to look for.
Summary: I bought it as an exact replacement for my my Magellan Sportrak map which was destroyed from leaking batteries that were left in the GPS. Also because it is an outdoor use type of GPS, which also can be used in the car. I like it because it is hand held, and leaves a track of were you've been on the map as to make it much easier to find your way back for out in the great outdoors. It is water proof, floats, etc.
