Excerpt: Welcome to the new age ==================== Ah, the memories. Long, winding country lanes, the sun setting over the sea. Dad refusing to ask for directions. Mum looking at the map, making constructive suggestions with increasing levels of irritation. Me and my older brother in the back, bored rigid and desperate for a wee. Well, now we have the glory that is satellite navigation.
Excerpt: This was the first car navigation system which I bought and I cannot compare it with any other product. However, I was (and still is) very satisfied with the product, specifically understanding how to use it, set up and locating and storing addresses and maps. The screen is large, which makes it easy to read and still concentrate on the raod. The voice instructions are very clear, maps very precise and the product overall is very impressive.
Pros: Easy to use, Clear screen, instructions and selections excellent, maps very reliable .
Cons: With vibration of car the voice sytem got disconnected and went on and off . Assume loose wire some
Excerpt: The Garmin 760 is currently my favourite sat nav!!! It is amazing value for money with a huge host of features including... Pre-loaded European street maps. Pre-installed Cyclops safety camera info Accurate & comprehensive safety camera database from Cyclops. You can download safety camera updates daily to have the most current information available.
Excerpt: Purchased this product 3 months ago. Excellent satnav system, does what it says on the box. The accident black spot camera updates are a breeze to load. The on-board aerial incorporated within the unit is outstanding, even in those with the special thermic window screens, if there should be any difficulties then there is a connection for an external aerial to be fitted.
Pros: Slim, A breeze to use, Good battery .
Cons: Audio output when in car not loud, even on maximum setting .
Excerpt: I bought a Garmin 760 GPS receiver for my car I had not had a satellite navigation system before this but had been borrowing my brother in laws for when I went on business trips. These are a brilliant devise you just put the postcode, town and other information in as to where you want to go and it will voice guide you there and also show you your route on the screen.
Pros: good battery life and good instruction manual
Cons: sometimes slow software and have to pay for camera feature after 30 days
Excerpt: This product was purchased after the car dealer quoted me £1000 for a built in system. This product caught my eye as it has a touch screen and a very easy to use interface, with things labeled far apart so its hard to 'accidently' choose something with 'large fingers'. This product comes with a computer link up so that new versions of the maps can be downloaded, for a fee, which seems a bit 'iffy' since the price off the product is so big in comparison to the...
Summary: I needed a GPS for work.. trying to find road in the dark with no street signs.. after some research I found the Garmin 760 was better rated.. and thin and I able to pack in my lunch box. this Garmin works real good.. the suction cup is weak.. but was a easy fix.. this 760 has a wide screen and make it easy er to see..the fm transmitter works great..
Summary: What I like about this unit is that it will direct you to an address that you do not know where it is at. It was helpful on our trip. The only thing bad is that it will give you the long way around some address instead of the direct route. I would say it was a good buy when you are driving because it will tell you the streets or highway that is coming up. I think it was a good buy.
