It uses rechargeable lithium-ion and has a battery life of up to 5 hours. It also has a high-sensitivity receiver and is RoHS version available.
The Garmin Nüvi 250’s maps include basemaps, preloaded maps, as well as the ability to add maps. It has a built-in memory of an internal solid state, and accepts data cards in the form of SD cards which are sold separately. It can store up to 500 waypoints/ favourites/ locations but is not able to save routes. The voice prompt feature is available through the us of internal speakers, and it also has a 3D map view. Other features include auto re-route (fast off-route and detour recalculation), choice of route setup (faster time, shorter distance, off road), route avoidance (avoid highways, tolls, etc) and custom POIs (ability to add additional points of interest). It also has a Garmin Garage which enables users to select car-shaped icons for map navigation and also has a Garmin Lock as an anti-theft feature. For added convenience, it has a world travel clock, currency and unit converter/ calculator. The Garmin Nüvi 250 also has a 3.5-inch touch screen with a display size of 2.8” x 2.1” and a display resolution of 320 x 240 pixels. It uses a display type of QVGA colour antiglare TFT with white backlights.
Combined with a sleek and slim design, the Garmin nüvi 250 has been released to take on the world of GPS devices. Some think this device rocks because of its performance. The Garmin nüvi 250 is looks quite alike to its previous model. The small display in this one is the only feature that differs them. Be it the fact that it has a user-friendly interface and with that, a reasonable performance. The menu is clear with icons either small or large and all in the 3.5-inch display. It is said that in this device, when making a search, one should make it in order of suburb, street number and then street name. Some reviewers commented on how this device lacks certain included accessories that can be found in other devices. And to add it on, the fact that it has a small display doesn’t seem to satisfy users fully. If the display has been brighter, many would have appreciated it. As when there’s full sunlight glare, it’s hard to see anything on the display. A certain reviewer quoted that the Garmin nüvi 250 is one solid device while another quoted that due to its user-friendly features, users will be drawn to it. This device works for people who are new to GPS devices and at the same time, it makes it easy for experienced users to use it.
