Review Summary

Combined with a sleek and slim design, the Garmin nüvi 250 has been released to take on the world of GPS devices. Some think this device rocks because of its performance. The Garmin nüvi 250 is looks quite alike to its previous model. The small display in this one is the only feature that differs them. Be it the fact that it has a user-friendly interface and with that, a reasonable performance. The menu is clear with icons either small or large and all in the 3.5-inch display. It is said that in this device, when making a search, one should make it in order of suburb, street number and then street name. Some reviewers commented on how this device lacks certain included accessories that can be found in other devices. And to add it on, the fact that it has a small display doesn’t seem to satisfy users fully. If the display has been brighter, many would have appreciated it. As when there’s full sunlight glare, it’s hard to see anything on the display. A certain reviewer quoted that the Garmin nüvi 250 is one solid device while another quoted that due to its user-friendly features, users will be drawn to it. This device works for people who are new to GPS devices and at the same time, it makes it easy for experienced users to use it.

I've had mine for over a year now and just got a free map upgrade from Garmin - cheers Garmin!  I bought it last summer as I had a wedding down south and I was dead impressed  - well worth the £150.  I previously had an old AA map and having a leaky mx5, it soon got mouldy and damp.  This was a good replacement.  I have just had it to Lanzarote too and the European map made my first overseas driving experience completely hassle free - finds local garages, places to... This review is from: Garmin Nuvi 250 Widescreen Satellite Navigation System - Full EU Mapping (Electronics) This worked well, but I did find it was out of date quite soon after buying my model. 2009 road changes in my local area 50 mile radius were not on it. It was still 2007/8. The cost of updates I thought were excessive, so I bought another make of unit . Read more

To be honest, the Nuvi 250 works OK. And if this is your firs Garmin, you will probably be very happy with it. It is compact; it has all the good features of a Garmin: clear screen, intuitive operation, good routing engine and it is very well built. The Nuvi 250 is actually very similar to the Street Pilot C530 that was stolen from my car last August. And by the way stolen: always remove the GPS from the windshield BFORE you arrive to your designated parking spot. Mine... Read more

Ease of use and a long battery life make the Garmin nüvi 250 Car GPS Receiver a great GPS unit. The box comes with everything you need to use it immediately including a window mount and charger. If you ever need to, you can connect it to your PC for an update. This unit has gotten me in and out of the most remote parts of the mountains without losing signal or giving misdirection. If you go off track, the nüvi 250 readjusts itself immediately - no problems at all.... Read more
