The game play features three decks namely Main, Habitation and Operations; and six research areas which each represents a different habitat such as Arctic, Tropical and Nocturnal. The story of the game began with the planet SR388 is suffering from an unbalanced ecosystem with the loss of all Metroid life. As Samus Aran was contracted as an expert advisor on the project to oversee thre reconstruction of the ecosystem, she came into contact with an unknown organism during a routine planetary expedition. Later, she lost control of her craft as her body was gripped by an intense seizure, and the craft crashed. She was infected by X parasite which infected her central nervous body. Then, the team of scientists cured her with the Metroid. Samus afterward board her ship and start investigating. The player enables to control Samus Aran by using the digital pad. Among weapons featured are normal beam, bombs and missiles as for normal weapons; and special weapons include charge beam, wide beam, plasma beam, wave beam, power bomb, super missile and diffusion missile. Besides that, Samus is also equipped with abilities which include Morph Ball, Fusion Suit, Hanging from Ledgers and Ladders for normal abilities; and also Varia Suit, Gravity Suit, Hi-jump, Balljump, Speed Booster, Space Jump and Screw Attack as for special abilities.
