Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga is a console role-playing video game developed by AlphaDream and published by Nintendo for Game Boy Advance. It is also known as Mario & Luigi RPG and was released on November, 2003. This is the third instalment of Mario game series after Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars and Paper Mario. It enables single player and multiplayer modes. It was rated A (all ages) by CERO, E (Everyone) by ESRB, G by OFLC and 3+ by PEGI.

Features

The game is set in Mushroom Kingdom, and moves to Beanbean kingdom as both Mario and Luigi battle Cackleta, the antagonist, who stole Princess Peach’s voice after adopting the guise of an ambassador from Beanbean Kingdom, with the aid of her assistant, Fawful. The Superstar battle system featured is mostly similar to Super Mario RPG and Paper Mario which requires the player to press button timely in order to increase damage of attacks and also reduce the damage of enemy attacks. Besides that, the player enables to use moves after abilities gain. Plus, it also features Brothers Moves which enables combos attack from Mario and Luigi with the use of Bros. Points (BP). In addition, the player also able to increase power by “levelling up”, such as speed and defence, which will be increased as each level pass through. Moreover, the game also requires the player to collect items which can effectively increase the player’s statistics when worn. This game focuses mainly on puzzle-solving and interaction between non-playable characters to progress.
