Charlie and the Chocolate Factory is an action adventure video game developed by High Voltage Software and Backbone Entertainment for the Game Boy Advance, PlayStation 2 and Xbox series. It was also developed for the PC version by Tecmo and Backbone. It was published by Take-Two Interactive Software Inc and licensed by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment. It was released on July 15, 2005; along with its based movie, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory which directed by Tim Burton and featured Johnny Depp. It is rated E for Everyone by ESRB.

Features

The game is based on the Charlie and the Chocolate Factory movie with a slight of difference, which the game story is about Charlie, the main character in the movie as well as in the game, cleans up the mess left by the other children. The game requires the player to fix wacky Wonka machines and rescue the rotten children. The player has to help the Oompa-Loompa and restores order of the factory in order to gain respect of Willy Wonka to win a prize beyond their wildest imagination. Besides that, the player is able to unlock candy-crazy mini-games. Johnny Depp has also lent his likenesses for Willy Wonka character. Most of the movie characters, including Freddie Highmore as Charlie Bucket, David Kelly as Grandpa Joe, Philip Wiegratz as Augustus Gloop, Julia Winter as Veruca Salt, Jordan Fry as Mike Teavee, and AnnaSophia Robb as Violet Beauregarde, have provided their likenesses and voice-acting talents for their respective characters.
