Features

The Pioneer DV-310-K is a slim DVD Player with USB Input with 108 MHz/12-bit video D/A converter. The player supports 96 kHz/24-bit D/A converter with DSP modes (Rock, Pop, Live, Dance, Techno, Classic, Soft, Default). It has virtual surround sound, a signal-to-noise ratio of 115 dB, 4-44 kHz frequency response, 88 dB dynamic range and 0.0065% total harmonic distortion. The player has PureCinema Progressive Scan on PAL/NTSC and play 1080 resolution at 24 frames per second. The Pioneer DV-310-K features a redesigned chipset that supports HDMI Deep Colour for a range of tones and smooth transitions. The unit also features CD playback via HDMI using the Precision Quartz Lock System (PQLS) (with compatible Pioneer receiver). The unit features Dolby Digital Plus, Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD High Resolution and DTS-HD Master Audio. It also features optimised graphical user interface for straightforward operation, and with HDMI allows for multimedia data transfer. HDMI (High-Definition Multimedia Interface) is an industry-supported, uncompressed, all-digital audio/video interface that enables users to obtain clear, all-digital audio and video via a single cable. HDMI provides an interface between any audio or video source, such as a set-top box, a DVD player, an A/V receiver and an audio and/or video monitor, such as a digital television (DTV), over a single cable. HDMI supports standard, enhanced, or high-definition video, plus multi-channel digital audio on a single cable) and component video connections, for playback on a connected High Definition Television. It also supports connectivity KURO LINK that allows users to utilise the KURO flat screen TV remote control for the DV-310-K as well. The 108 MHz video signal D/A converter overcomes degradation of Y (luminance) and C (chrominance) colour signals which distorts picture colour on playback when digital 8-bit DVD-Video data is converted to analogue data by upgrading the 8-bit Y/C signal data to 10-bit data and maintain data integrity and reproduce images that are truer to the DVD source. This unit also features PureCinema mode which is for typical film-sourced DVD-Video playback. PureCinema automatically detects film-based sources, originally encoded at 24 frames / second. The digital image processing will detect if individual interlaced fields are coming from the same original film frame and restore the image frame exactly as created for projection in the movie theatre. The video feature of this player allows users to adjust settings from the video adjust screen through various settings that affect how the picture is presented. Users can adjust the following picture quality settings like Sharpness - Adjusts the sharpness of edges in the picture (Fine, Standard, Soft); Brightness - Adjusts the overall brightness (-20 to +20); Contrast - Adjusts the contrast between light and dark (-16 to +16); Gamma - Adjusts the ‘warmth’ of the picture (High, Medium, Low, Off); Hue - Adjusts the red/green balance (Green 9 to Red 9) and Chroma Level - Adjusts how saturated colors appear (-9 to +9).

I decided to get this after seeing how sharp pictures looked in my friend's Pioneer DVD player. And, as far as playing DVDs, this product delivers and amazing picture, although it has to be used with a reasonable quality RGB SCART cable, otherwise it will be all for nowt (and it's amazing how many people don't realise this). When you play DVDs in this way, the picture is very sharp and the colours very vibrant and it's a very, very satisfying view. It looks pretty... Read more

I love the dimensions, sleek look, and incredible video and audio quality this DVD player offers. I'm also a huge fan of the Divx USB connection, which I've been using even more so than the DVD function. All in all, a great buy! Read more

Pioneer DV-310-K - DVD Player With USB Input (Black) I bought this dvd player for the USB port that it has built in. I thought it was a very reasonable price and it works great. I just put my shows on to a USB stick and it plays straight away. It saves a lot of time burning things to disk that I am only going to watch once. The design is very sleek and I think it looks very good. The picture quality of the dvd's are very good, A lot better than the previous well named... Read more
