Hysteria Hospital: Emergency Ward is an engrossing title for the first few hours of play but the repetitive nature and the occasional bad control issues cause the game to lose most of its puzzle like appeal. The previous reasons and an overly high RRP of £29.99 for the Wii version means that this is a title that you should probably rent first. Read more
Ultimately, whilst the premise of Hysteria Hospital feels like it should have the potential for a good game (after all, look at Theme Hospital ), the game itself is just far too repetitive, inflexible, and unchallenging to really be enjoyable. I've only failed two levels, and both of those were due to a brief lapse of concentration, leading to a backing up of patients who would then all leave before they could get treated. Your first hour or so with Hysteria Hospital is a delight and the simple game mechanics offer a rewarding challenge. After this the game's shortcomings start to become apparent and the problem is, while the overall concept is both original and engaging, there just isn't enough depth to keep you entertained for long sessions.
