Excerpt: What do you get when you cross a platform game with a pinball game? Something that looks a lot like the game Flipper Critters. This is definitely a game geared far more towards the younger platform playing set than to gamers who get their usual fix of the silver ball from pinball machines at their local pool halls.
Excerpt: When Flipper Critters was put on my desk for review I honestly didn't know what I was getting into. I took a look at the back of the game’s box, and from the screenshots that were available it looked like it was a new pinball game. However, after reading the game's premise on back of the same box it also seemed like I was getting an adventure or platform game of sorts.
Excerpt: Pinball is one of the oldest pastimes known to arcades even though technically pinball machines are not video games at all. There is just something about watching a small metal ball bounce around in a playing field and only doing anything when said ball reaches the bottom that has many people addicted. Certainly it is a pick up and play concept.
Excerpt: Released by Ignition Entertainment, Flipper Critters is an odd hybrid of a pinball game and an adventure story. Set in a fantasy world, animals are working together to save each other on various quests. At the outset, Tiger and Monkey (yes, those are their names) head out into the world to save Bull, a sick character. The world is chock full of flippers, bumpers, ramps and essentially anything else found in a pinball machine.
