"There are plenty of megapixels and also extra features compared to other similar digital cameras. Picture quality just falls short of being top drawer, but if you are looking for megapixels and features to play with this is well worth closer inspection." Read more

As ever with Sony's Cyber-shot range, the DSC-W300 is as much about style as substance. The metal build quality suggests this is a camera that you'll still be using a few years down the line, a feeling backed up by that whopping 13+ megapixel resolution, plus its plentifully large and bright rear LCD (look back at a camera from four or five years ago when 1.5-inches was the norm and find a product looking positively prehistoric). Unfortunately though, while images appear... Read more

Sony is definitely doing well here. The Cyber-Shot W300 is an attractive product, with a good resolution, excellent electronic noise handling and plenty of other technical innovations. It's only lacking a wide angle zoom lens, and its AutoFocus could be a little faster in lower light. Fixing these two quibbles and adding HD video would make this the perfect digital compact. The W300's real qualities are its design, build, finish and responsiveness. The features are fun, but don't expect them to change your photography. And don't expect too much from that sensor, either, despite its stratospheric 13.6 million pixels and ISO 6,400. The 3x zoom is neither versatile nor particularly good Read more

Having had a few sony cameras similar to this in the past I must say this one is the best by far. The screen on it is excellent, the picture quality really good and some of the features (like the ability to take multiple shots at the same time - which means you can capture things you wouldn't normally miss) are great. The battery is also excellent, we took it away recently for a weeks holiday and forgot the charger - however, having used it every day it still hadn't run... Read more

  2. a great camera, takes pictures IN FOCUS!

The number and type of features seems very straightforward and easy to use with this camera. Unlike many "point and shoots", the DSC-W300 actually focuses quickly and accurately. Light exposure is also done very well. Sometimes Sony puts out cameras that don't do one of the above so well. Case in point: DSC-W290. It frequently takes pictures that are blurry, despite taking too long between the button press and the picture actually being taken (during which time it's... Read more

This review is from: Sony DSC-W300 Titanium-Coated Digital Camera - Black (13.6MP, 3x Optical Zoom) 2.7" LCD (Electronics) I have had this camera for 18 months and I have to say I am as impressed as I was the first day I used it! Think about the functions available to you, use them wisely and you won't go wrong - this camera really is easy to use and produces great photos. High ISO values produce excellent dusk/night-time photos but you may need a tripod for greater... Read more

When you comapre this to the other 10.2 Mega Pixel Sony cyber shot, you will instantly like this one better. The titanium bodt resists scrathces and the build is really stable. The video mode is pretty good but obviously, since it is a cyber shot the optical zoom functionality leaves you wanting for more. It sure is  very compact model and has excellent low-light performance. It does give a you bit of a feeling like a pro as it offers manual control over exposure and... Read more
