List All 13 PricesThe Panasonic LX3 achieves the rare feat of excelling in both form and function. A well-crafted object, it performs well enough to win over photography fans as well as aesthetes. Its fast wide angle lens, manual modes and HD video are all great strengths, but other promising cameras from Canon, Nikon and Sigma are all hot on its heels ... Read more
Overpriced and overcomplicated, it’s a case of ‘what might have been’ for the stylish little LX3 Read more
Panasonic’s snapper tries to combine the best of both worlds – the flexibility of manual exposure options in the small, compact body of a standard point-and-shoot. Can it pull it off? Read more
The camera is great to use and handle, it looks nice and it seems to do exactly what it says on the tin: produce superb images with great detail, fine colour and white balance control, rich detail in shadows and with around a stop and half of headroom in the RAW files, even more detail that can be brought out using image editing software. The LX3 has just about all that’s required by an enthusiast photographer and automation for those that are not, the all-metal build... Read more
The Panasonic Lumix DMC-LX3 is a good, solid camera for enthusiasts seeking a travelling companion that's more discrete than a digital SLR. But, although the LX3 takes generally sharp photos and offers an enthusiast-friendly feature set, we think the JPEG quality should be more consistent, considering the price Read more
Not just me, but dpreview, luminous landscape, and many other hardcore camera reviews sites have given this rave reviews. Details below, but here and now the simplest of observations: the photographs are breathtaking, sharp and colorful, even in low light without flash. Okay, it isn't cheap, and it has no true telephoto coverage, but those are the downsides. Period. Otherwise it is fast, clear, clean, responsive, flexible, sturdy. It's a professional camera in a compact... Read more
I am absolutely impressed with this camera, I love the SLR features of the camera it allows for a lot of creative control. The sensor is very bright so takes great pictures in very low light without flash. This is the kind of camera I have always wanted, SLR qualities in a compact size. I was a bit disappointed at the 2.5x zoom and lack of a hotshoe cover (it was raining when I used it for the first time) but apart from that the camera is fantastic and have had no... Read more
I am a very keen and experienced amateur photographer. I bought this camera 2 weeks ago. I have taken 212 (serious) shots (i.e. not just snaps). I wanted a pocketable camera which would be a viable alternative to my DSLR when I want to travel light. I needed full manual control and first class picture quality. Two months earlier, being a Canon DSLR user, I made the mistake of buying a Canon Powershot G10. On paper it was a fantastic camera but I was extremely... Read more
Couldn't be happier. The trade off for giving up zoom is well worth it. Living in Kauai allows me to do all sorts of fun stuff, and the landscape is other-worldly and surprisingly varied. There's this one cave on the north shore that is particularly dark. Going to Aperture priority and just setting the camera on a rock allowed the most beautiful shots. Video is great. Camera is easy to use. Photo quality outstanding. I am an amateur photographer, so I'm sure there are... Read more
This review is from: Panasonic DMCLX3 Digital Camera - Black (10MP, 2.5x Optical Zoom) 3.0 inch LCD (Electronics) Was looking for a 'holiday' camera to do away with the need to lug around one of my Canon dSLRs, which are lovely to use but are heavy and not exactly discreet when it comes to street / candid photography, for example. I also needed something which could shoot RAW. So, having read all the reviews of the LX3 - not least, those on this site - I decided to order... Read more
