List All 3 PricesCompared to the FZ28, the FZ38 has brought a lot of welcome additions, including direct access to HD video, Dolby Digital sound and the new Venus Engine HD processor. We would have liked to have been able to say the same thing about the optical viewfinder or the electronic noise handling. Read more
The Panasonic Lumix DMC FZ38 is a super zoom digital camera with plenty of features for stills photography. It also has a very advanced movie mode. I found picture quality to be very impressive. The camera is also able to respond quickly to photo opportunities. Recommended Read more
In the right conditions and at lower ISO settings the image quality of the Lumix DMC-FZ38 is comparable to a DSLR camera, but above ISO 400 it cannot compete. However, with a huge 18x zoom lens and a range of manual controls, it’s an attractive alternative for those not quite ready to make the jump to \La DSLR. Read more
A superzoom's a smart buy as long as you realise that you're not going to get quite the same handling and picture quality as you would from a digital SLR. You don't want to spend a fortune, in other words. On that basis, the Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ38 is great. Panasonic's created a camera that's one of the best of its type, but one of the cheapest too Read more
As a super-zoom camera, the Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ38 is up there with the best, offering good quality images, adaptability, a creative feature set and excellent video performance, which should provide beginners or intermediates with some excellent results. Advanced photographers may well prefer the more professional DSLR cameras , but the Lumix DMC-FZ38 really does offer an awful lot at a price that just can't be ignored. Not impressed? Try the Pentax X70 if you fancy... Read more
The new Panasonic DMC-FZ35 camera belongs to a category, loosely defined as mega-zoom cameras. This description refers to cameras that have 10x optical zoom or over. Before digital mega-zoom cameras were available, you would have to buy and, not less important, carry around a bunch of lenses and a camera body to be able to get to 10x magnification. Now you can get a digital camera with 10x optical zoom and over for less than $500 and frequently even for less than $300... Read more
Like the other review, I wanted a camera that was better than the old 5MB digital one I had been using. I used to have a film SLR camera, but I don't take enough pictures to justify buying a full digital SLR camera. This one is a perfect compromise for occasional users. It's light and very easy to use. Panasonic have programmed in just about everything you want, from beginner auto-mode to advanced shutter & aperture priority shots. The close-up Macro pictures are amazing... Read more
I have had this camera about a week and will post a review when I've had more time to work with it. However, if you are thinking about buying this camera, I would highly recommend that you go to flickr.com and search "Groups" for the "Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ35(FZ38) Digital Camera" group. There are actually 3 groups for this camera, but look at the one that has about 683 members. They post pictures they have taken with the camera, and have a wealth of info in the Q&A... Read more
This review is from: Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ38EB-K Digital Camera - Black (12.1MP, 18 x Optical Zoom) 2.7 inch LCD (Electronics) For a point and shoot camera it gives excellent photo quality, even on full zoom without a tri-pod. Obviously it can't compare to a DSLR's but considering the cost and the flexibility of the lens it is a perfect for someone like me that wants a better quality pic than the basic 35mm units, but without the huge cost, weight of a DSLR+various lens...
