Panasonic DMC-TZ4

The DMC-TZ4 is a compact superzoom camera from Panasonic. It was announced on 29 January. It features the familiar 28-280mm equiv. 10x zoom with the TZ4 recording 8.1 megapixels. The 9.1-Megapixel DMC-TZ4 features an advanced Intelligent Auto Mode. This camera is powered by a 3.7v 1000mAh Lithium-ion Battery Pack. It weighs at 208g and measures at 103.3 x 59.3 x 36.2 mm.

Features

Its sensor consists of a 1/2.5" Type CCD, 8.32 million pixels total and 8.1 million effective pixels. Image sizes are for 4:3 Aspect Ratio: 3456 x 2592 pixels, 3072 x 2304 pixels, 2560 x 1920 pixels, 2048 x 1536 pixels, 1600 x 1200 pixels, 640 x 480 pixels. For 3:2 Aspect Ratio: 3552 x 2368 pixels, 3072 x 2048 pixels, 2560 x 1712 pixels, 2048 x 1360 pixels. For 16:9 Aspect Ratio: 3712 x 2088, 3072 x 1728 pixels, 2560 x 1440 pixels, 1920 x 1080 pixels. Movie clips are for 4:3 Aspect Ratio: 640 x 480 pixels, 320 x 240 pixels 30 fps, 10 fps. For 16:9 Aspect Ratio: 848 x 480 pixels 30 fps, 10 fps. File formats are JPEG (EXIF 2.21) and QuickTime (Motion JPEG). Lens type is a 10x optical zoom , 28 - 280mm (35mm equiv.), 4.7 - 47mm, F3.3 - 4.9, LEICA DC VARIO-ELMAR and 11 elements in 9 groups (3 Aspherical Lenses / 4 Aspherical surfaces / 1 ED lens). For image stabilization, there’s the MEGA O.I.S lens-shift stabilization. There’s a 4x digital zoom and an AF assist lamp. Focus modes featured are Normal, Macro and Continuous AF. AF area modes are Face, 9-point, 3-point high speed, 1-point high speed, 1-point and Spot. Focus distance are Normal: Wide 50cm/ Tele 200cm – infinity and Macro / Intelligent AUTO / Clipboard : Wide 5cm / Max 200cm / Tele 100cm – infinity. For metering, there are Intelligent Multiple , Center-Weighted and Spot. ISO sensitivity levels are Auto, 100, 200, 400, 800, 1600 and High Sensitivity Mode : Auto (1600 - 6400). There’s also the exposure compensation as well as the exposure bracketing. Shutter speed is 8-1/2000 sec and Starry Sky Mode : 15, 30, 60sec. Aperture featured are Wide: F3.3 / F8.0 (2 steps) and Tele: F4.9 / F11 (2 steps). Modes are Intelligent AUTO, Normal Picture, Motion Picture, Clipboard, Scene 1 and Scene 2. Other settings available are scene modes, white balance, White balance fine tune, self timer and continuous shooting.
