Harder than a Phil Mitchell/Hulk Hogan tag team, this 12-megapixel snapper can withstand almost anything the elements can chuck at it – but is it equally impressive in the photo department? Read more
The Myu Tough 8000 is an extension of Olympus' collection of all-terrain cameras and it's definitely a step in the right direction, with a wide-angle lens, better grip and more responsiveness. It still lags behind land-based digital cameras, but good performance underwater wins it an extra star. Read more
This is a robust digital camera at home around water or on the ski slopes. It is also drop proof and crush proof. It takes a good picture and is worth a good look if you are after a digital camera anyone in the family can use. Read more
The bottom line: For going from snorkeling to rock climbing to everyday life, the Olympus Stylus Tough 8000 is a good choice, though its photos and performance can be disappointing. Read more

Perfect "wet" camera you can get My wife and I had been looking for a camera to take with us boating, swimming and various other wet activities. The tough-8000 is great looking, great performing and all around awesome! With most "wet" digital cameras you have the depth rating of either 10ft or 33ft - this camera has the 33ft rating. On top of... Read more

I've had this camera for 6 months now, it's been in all weather conditions, and it still works perfectly! There are many different settings for all lighting environments, including the underwater setting which takes GREAT PHOTOS. No water has gotten in, and it doesn't even have a scratch on it (and I've dropped it many times already). Great purchase. Read more
This review is from: Olympus Mju Tough 8000 Compact Digital Camera - Midnight Black (12MP, 3.6x Wide Zoom) 2.7 inch LCD (Electronics) I bought the Mju Tough 8000 to replace my Panasonic Lumix that had malfunctioned due to the sand, grit and dust entering the body of the camera whilst I was in the Middle East. I reasoned that if the camera was waterproof then it would also be dustproof and it passed that test. The camera is sold as shockproof and it also passed this test!... Read more
I bought this camera to take backpacking with me, mainly due to its claims of being tough and durable, after seeing and being sucked in by the advertisement with the child throwing it in mud and rinsing it under a water tap. I've now had it for months, taking it on my travels with me, and have had no problems with it whatsoever. I have so far: ... dropped it off a balcony (it has the tinest of scratch marks on it, after falling 3 floors) ...dropped a 30kg suitcase on top... Read more
