Harder than a Phil Mitchell/Hulk Hogan tag team, this 12-megapixel snapper can withstand almost anything the elements can chuck at it – but is it equally impressive in the photo department? Read more
The Myu Tough 8000 is an extension of Olympus' collection of all-terrain cameras and it's definitely a step in the right direction, with a wide-angle lens, better grip and more responsiveness. It still lags behind land-based digital cameras, but good performance underwater wins it an extra star. Read more
This is a robust digital camera at home around water or on the ski slopes. It is also drop proof and crush proof. It takes a good picture and is worth a good look if you are after a digital camera anyone in the family can use. Read more
Image quality is reasonable, with a decent amount of detail and pleasing colours. Olympus gets extra points for supplying Mac-compatible software out of the box (OS X 10.3 or later). Master 2 has some rather useful image editing tricks up its sleeve. Read more

Must have taken around 500... Read more
Overall, I am very happy with my camera. I've taken it under water and to the mountains and it functions just fine. The only negative so far is that the menus sometimes get a little hard to navigate through. I have been using Canons for a lot of years and theirs is much more intuitive. For example, it took me a lot of searching and trial to find out how to take a black and white picture. I found that you actually cannot take a B&W picture but you have the option to... Read more
I bought the Olympus to use in poor weather during mobilisation on construction ships, barges and generally running around the quayside. Living in Singapore means plenty of rain and it is usually the case when trying to get good shots when on deck. The worst is that when used as a normal compact in workshops and yards when documenting equipment, the pictures are generally out of focus and lacking in any decent detail. It's waterproof and has a tough feel though its prime... Read more
