The NIKON Coolpix L4 is an ideal camera choice for anyone who is looking to stay on a budget. Not only is this camera compact, but it is definitely worth the price that you will pay for it. According to CNET, the pictures which are taken with this camera are much better than those of other cameras at the same value. This is what makes it an ideal choice for its value range. One of the biggest problems that CNET fund with this digital camera is the fact that it does not have very many features to offer to you. Cameras believes that the main benefit which makes this camera so very appealing is the fact that it is such an easy camera to use. You will not need to worry about learning how to figure out the functions that this camera has to offer you, as it is very simplified.

Cameras has also found that the overall performance of this digital camera was very slow, which is not appealing for anyone who is looking to make sure that they do not miss a single shot when they need it. Another thing which they do not like about the NIKON Coolpix L4 is the fact that it does not provide the best images in indoor settings. On the other hand, some of the things that they did really like about the camera include the fact that it packed with some pretty neat features, the fact the design and build of the camera is pretty good, there is no red eye in the test shots, and it is great for outdoor settings. Overall, if you are looking for a camera which will take some of its best pictures outdoors, then chances are that the NIKON Coolpix L4 is the best choice for you. However, if you want something that you will mainly use indoors or something which has high speed performance, then this is probably not the most suitable digital camera choice for you.

"The Nikon Coolpix L4 is a bit of a mixed bag. Outside in good light the camera takes crisp, sharp photos. Like many digital cameras in this price bracket it tends to struggle in less than perfect light. Shutter lag is also an issue." Read more

The Nikon Coolpix L4 is a very cheap digital camera and it has the poor performance to match. It is one of the slowest cameras available. It also has a very small ISO range which cannot be controlled by the user. This is a serious limitation which means the camera chooses the quality of images rather than the user. Given its weak flash, the camera frequently boosts ISO in low-light and therefore produces rather noisy images in such conditions. At the tele-end of the... Read more

For an entry-level camera, the Nikon Coolpix L4 does a passable performance, with a 4.0-megapixel CCD sensor, a reasonable 3x Nikkor optical zoom, and improved overall ergonomics. For the novice shooter, the Nikon L4 has a good feature set which along with Nikon's D-Lighting, Face Priority AF, and Best Shot Selector, has 14 scene modes including four with Scene Assist. As a basic snapshooter, the L4 will serve just fine, capturing images sharp enough for 5x7, with punchy... Read more

Firstly, it is awful slow. Turning it on takes forever. Between shots, it has to recharge the flash, which also takes forever. So many times I have missed a good shot because of this. Also, the auto-focus is horrible and takes many tries before I can focus it on something. In the ad, it said the movie had sound, but it doesn't. The flash makes my photos look weirdly colored, but when I don't use the flash my photos go blurry. PictureProject, the software that comes with... Read more

I bought this camera about 2 years ago and after about a month, the camera wouldn't turn on if it had a memory card in it. I have to take it out, then turn it on, then re-insert the card. The card is approved for the camera. Hopefully this has been fixed in later camera shipments. If you start to have this problem, get it fixed under warranty, else it might make you wish you bought something else. Read more

Great camera for fine detail and micro focus. Drop it one time from more than 2 feet to a hard surface and it likely will not continue to work correctly if at all. Read more
