The Nikon CoolPix L24 is a compact digital camera that supports 14.0 million megapixel output via its 1/2.3 inch CCD sensor, and has a 3.6x optical Zoom, NIKKOR glass lens with a focal length of 6.7-24.0mm (angle of view equivalent to that of 37-134mm lens in 35mm [135] format). It supports f/3.1-6.7 aperture, has up to 4x (angle of view equivalent to that of approx. 536mm lens in 35mm [135] format), supports electronic Vibration Reduction, autofocus, face detection, focus lock, a 3.0 inch diagonal TFT LCD monitor with 5 level brightness adjustment, and supports SD, SDHC and SDXC memory cards. It also has an internal 17 MB memory. Other features on the Nikon CoolPix L24 include ISO 80-1600 sensitivity, 256-segment matrix exposure metering, 16 Scene Modes, In-Camera Image Editing, white balance adjustments, 1/2000-1 seconds shutter speed, built-in flash with a range of 0.5 to 7.0 m (1ft. 8 in. to 22 ft.) (wide)/0.5 to 3.0m (1ft. 8in. to 9 ft. 10 in.) (tele). The Nikon CoolPix L24 supports hi-speed interface, an audio/video (A/V) output, digital I/O (USB), and is powered by two AA-size batteries (alkaline, NiMH Oxyride or Lithium) for up to 220 (alkaline)/700 (lithium) shot or two rechargeable EN-MH2 NiMH batteries (optional) for up to 420 shots. The Nikon CoolPix L24 measures 2.4 in. (60.5mm) x 3.9 in. (97.7mm) x 1.2 in. (28.3mm) and weighs 6.5 oz. (182g) with battery and SD memory card. It comes with two LR6/L40 (AA-size) alkaline batteries, AN-CP19 Strap, UC-E6 USB Cable and Nikon ViewNX 2 Software CD.

The Nikon CoolPix L24 features Scene Mode system that lets users choose from 16 scenes to find optimized settings for the given situation. Users can also select the Easy Auto Mode to automatically select the best settings for their photos. It comes with Nikon’s Smart Portrait System, which includes a Blink Warning that alerts users when a subject may have blinked; in-camera Red-Eye technology that automatically fixes red eye; and Face-Priority that focuses up to 12 faces. The digital camera also records movies with sound at 30fps in 640x480 resolution, and supports 14-megapixel recording that allows users to print photos as large as 16 x 20 inches. Powered by a 3.6x optical Zoom-NIKKOR glass lens that features a zoom range from 37mm to 134mm, the L24 ha a three-inch LCD that lets users compose and share their shots, as well as three-way Vibration Reduction (VR) Image Stabilization System with motion detector that identifies moving subjects and then adjusts the camera’s settings to catch the action.
