If you are looking for a camera which is just about average, then chances are that the Casio Exilim EX-Z700 is the most perfect choice that you can make. However, there are a number of different things which may make you want to decide to buy a different camera. As CNET puts it, there is nothing which makes this camera much more special than any other digital camera that is out on the market. Although it is compact, it seems as though most of the new cameras that are being made are compact as well. Even though the design is not sleek, this camera can be found in five different colors which may be an advantage if you are looking for something other than a basic black or silver camera. CNET found that the performance of the Casio Exilim EX Z700 was good overall, except for the fact that when you quickly take tons of pictures, they made end up grainy. CNET also found the camera to be packed with some really great features, even though it does not do the best with low light settings.

The Casio Exilim Z700 is not only suitable for your pocket or purse, but it also has 7 mega pixels. Cameras agrees with CNET about the fact that there is really nothing special about this camera. They also agreed that the overall image quality of the photos that were produced by this camera was pretty good, overall. They also liked the color quality of most of the images which they took with the camera. They especially like the 2.7 inch LCD screen that can be found on the Casio Exilim EX Z700. So, as you can see, if you are looking for a camera that is pretty decent overall, then the Casio Exilim EX Z700 is a pretty good choice for you. However, if you are interested in finding a digital camera which is extraordinary, CNET and Cameras both seem to agree that the Casio Exilim EX Z700 is not the right choice for you, by any means, as there is nothing that makes this camera any more special than any other camera.

Though it's not the flashiest or slimmest model on the market, the Casio EXILIM EX-Z700 has a lot going for it. With a 7.2 megapixel sensor, a fairly standard 3x zoom (38-114mm equivalent focal range), and a 2.7-inch LCD, the Casio EX-Z700 doesn't break any new ground, but it is a good little camera. The Z700's design is simple, but attractive and highly functional. Overall performance was quite speedy. The Casio EX-Z700's prefocus shutter lag was an impressive 0.01... Read more

Once again, the watchwords here are “less is so much more”. Casio has a great little camera in the Z700 but one marred by having more pixels than it needs (given the market) on a sensor that’s just too small. Drop this to a 5-megapixel camera and the noise would probably vanish – or at least be much less prominent. And that AF system is just flippin’ frustrating so I cannot recommend this camera. However, to be fair, if you’re not going to make prints bigger... Read more

I got this camera as a Christmas present in 2006 and still using it now. It has a great design with excellent build quality. The battery has to be one of the best features for this camera, lasting days even with the flash on. Also, the camera starts up extremely fast and never misses a shot. However, there are alot of quirks with this camera. The photo quality isn't the greatest. Comparing photos of the same thing with other cameras and you can always tell which one was... Read more
