There’s a Print/Share button that is for direct printing and downloading, plus an ID Photo Print and Movie Print with select PIXMA Photo Printers, CP and SELPHY Compact Photo Printers. This camera has 12.1-megapixel resolution whereby users can enlarge images to poster size, and crop any section of images. The DIGIC III Image Processor enables Canon’s Face Detection Technology and Red-eye Correction to work better just by pressing the Shutter Button halfway down, and the camera will do its job. The iSAPS Technology is an entirely original scene-recognition technology developed for digital cameras by Canon. Using an internal database of thousands of different photos, iSAPS works with the DIGIC III Image Processor to improve focus speed and accuracy, as well as exposure and white balance. The camera is equipped with a long 6x optical zoom. There’s also the Canon’s Optical Image Stabilizer Technology that helps to keep images steady and clear. Because it is an optical system, more corrective movement is allowed and there is no degradation of image quality. Without revolutionizing its class, Canon offers an expert compact that is rather nice to use and equipped with interesting functions; RAW mode, stabilized lens, and a large screen. And so, the upgrade of the G7 that is the Canon PowerShot G9 has been fixed – to a degree. It’s the same price as the G7 at £330, so not cheap, but no more expensive and it is a better camera. The lens is sharp and crisp but could still do with the faster apertures of the G6 from a few years back with its impressive F/2.0 to F/3.0 maximum aperture range. Nevertheless, in terms of control, features and build, the G9 is a cracker; image quality and performance are... Read more

I have owned the G9 since January 2008, and it is one of the later batches that does not have the LCD light leakage on the screen. It does however have one hot pixel, that is not noticeable unless on a wholly black screen. I am an amateur photographer, and even though this camera is in between an SLR and a compact, it is easy to use and understand. The Canon interface on the camera is simple, and is not over done with options and accessory elements. The 3.0" LCD allows... Read more
