Canon PowerShot A590 IS

The 590 IS is another release from Canon’s line of PowerShot models. It A590 sports Canon's DIGIC III processor just like the previous PowerShot models and upgraded versions of improved Face Detection and Motion Detection technologies. The A590 IS has a streamlined look and feels a bit more rugged than its predecessor. The A590 uses a conventional two-position switch. The camera control layout and interface is just like a camera from Canon, with on-screen information and parameter adjustments all made via the bottom and sidebar menus. Like many of its PowerShot brethren, the A590 retains an optical viewfinder and its 115,000-pixel LCD is a carryover from previous models. The batteries used are 2 x AA and battery life with 2500 mAh batteries (CIPA standard) are 450 shots. Canon has been promoting the A590 IS as “a photographer's camera” while many has said that this model offers consistent in-the-field performance in a variety of shooting situations.
