Summary: What a waste of money. Having a camcorder that you can use when ever you go out or on holiday etc you expect the battery to atleast hold its charge. used the camcorder a few times since i brought it. charged the battery up overnight the night before, stick it in after about 10 minutes the battery dies. Cannot do a thing about it as the warrenty expired. For the money you would expect more quality.
Summary: This was our first camcorder and it works very well. The pictures are clear and the unit is easy to use. Downsides were the amount of picture shake - but this could be our inexperience - and the quality of the still photos is not as good as my Canon Ixus. Overall very happy.
Summary: I searched the net for ages looking for a little HD camera, didn't really need the photo part but wanted it to fit in a pocket or handbag, this one ticks all the boxes although the picture is a bit grainy in low light conditions but that should be expected for a camera this size and i wasn't expecting miracles.
Summary: Impressed is the only word i can use to describe this smart little camcorder. It was purchased as a present for my wife who wanted a camcorder that was not too technical (point and shoot). I read all the reviews and then took the plunge. It is by far the cheapest and easiest little gem to use and it is packed with all the features of the more expensive machines. It records in full HD with 1080p and has a 14mp stills camera.
Summary: The camera was bought as a present and luckily thanks to amazon :) arrived just on time before Christmas! The camera is very light and very easy to use, pity doesnt have a protective cover nor a strap. The resolution is great although it suffers in the dark or in poor light. Otherwise very happy with the purchase.
Summary: Easy to use and has a nice quality video. But I think the battery is a major let down. It doesn't last (no matter what the manual says re: battery life - trust me, you'll need a second or third one). I brought mine to a rugby match and it was depleted by the end of the first half (I shot less than 30mins video). I think Sanyo MUST look into this with their Xacti product lines.
Pros: Easy to use, light and great quality video (considering price).
Cons: Poor photos (gimmicky), poor battery life (DEFINITELY buy a second one...)
Stylish and easy to use but disappointed by quality

Summary: I bought it because I would like a compromise between a camera and a camcorder. It is very stylish, easy to use, good to hold, great menus and screen. But the quality is not here. It is not a good camera and not a good camcorder (my old Canon Ixus 60 is better). The night shots or movies are really low quality. I did the wrong purchase for my requirement. It is ok if you need a normal video and photo quality.
Summary: The Xacti doesn't come with any software, an SD card to record to, a wrist strap, bag or HDMI cable. The Xacti is smartly made and has a large, adjustable, LCD which is viewable in sunlight. Being left-handed I found the unit difficult, but not impossible, to hold. Although not large the Xacti won't, for instance, fit in a shirt or trouser pocket. The unit has spoken instructions, e.g. low battery, which are very faint, there is no earphone socket.
Summary: Before discovering this camera, I decided to buy the kodak zi8. A week after i got it i asked for a replacement since it had some dead pixels on the screen which affected the video as well. The replacement had the same problem. Also in general i was not too satisfied with its performance; the zoom was really bad, and could not perform well in low light situations. I sent both back and got the sanyo. This little camera is amazing. Cheap yet so powerful.
