Poor Sanyo quality and service

I bought this camera and was very happy with it until it developed a fault. Unfortunately this happened 1x month after the warranty ran out and I was unable to get support or help from Amazon or Alcam to repair. Sanyo Customer service would not even reply. The fault appears to be an intermittent connection between the camera body and the viewfinder. There is a flat cable which needs to flex as the viewfinder is opened and closed.
