Simple to use and dinky enough to fit in a jacket pocket, but low light shots can be grainy Read more

In strong sunlight or well-lit interiors, the Panasonic SDR-S26 is highly impressive. It’s less so in dimmer conditions – what you see on the LCD doesn’t necessarily translate to a nice, bright set of footage when played back on a PC. Nonetheless, this is a fantastically light, highly portable and compact model. Read more

The Panasonic SDR-S26 is a rare beast - a sub-£200 video camera that is a 'proper' camcorder with a traditional form factor and a flip out screen. Read more

I've never owned a video/movie camera before and am not a techno person, so therefore did not need all the latest and greatest gadgets on a camera, BUT, this little camera has way more gadgets than I will ever use. It is so easy to use! And the zoom is wonderful - 70X! Although when you reallllllllly zoom in on something even breathing movement shows up in the picture, so you really need to put it on the tripod if you are going to zoom waaaayyyy in. The camera takes... Read more

I like to review by comparison and as such this is a winner.  I wanted a light small camcorder with a decent zoom.  I've been working with the 3x optical on my digital camera for awhile and it just doesn't cut it.  I wanted at least 30x optical and <$300 range.  So I looked at the pana, sony, jvc and canon fs200.  The pana had a few less lines of resolution but the best zoom, no external audio input and a short battery life of 40min but where it really excelled was... Panasonic needs to go back to the drawing board on this product. Its 70x optical zoom feature is excellent but it appears that the picture quality looks sharper the more you zoom in, but is pretty poor quality zoomed all the way out. Read more
