The Panasonic HX-DC1 is a camcorder that supports full high definition 1920 x 1080 movie recording and is powered by a image engine that supports 14 megapixel still image recording as well. The camcorder supports 12x Advanced Zoom for Motion Image Shooting, supports high speed reverse consecutive shooting, comes with HD Writer VE 1.0 for web uploading, and supports MPEG-4 AVC file format. The Panasonic HX-DC1 is available in white, pink and gray colour option.

The HX-DC1 also supports backside Illumination (BSI) technology for shooting in dimly lit conditions, allowing users to record in outdoor conditions, sports a 3.0 -inch wide TFT LCD monitor, has an optical 5x zoom/12x Advanced zoom for movie recording, E.I.S (Electrical Image Stabilizer), automatic optimal settings with iA (Intelligent Auto) mode, Face Detection and stereo microphones. It also supports mini HDMI Terminal that lets users connect the unit to a HDTV for Full-HD resolution playback, and is compatible with large-capacity recording media SDXC memory card. The camcorder also lets users upload their recordings online via the included HD Writer VE 1.0 software, which is compatible with both YouTube and Facebook.
