The image quality is second to none, you can set it up anywhere from fully automated point-and-shoot to totally manual and customised to the nth degree. It is possible to switch to auto and use this straight out of the box - you'll get stunning results - but the real fun starts when you want to take control. complete noob with HD, im buying a new HD canon need help
OK thanks. I just cant find out if the Canon XH A1 records in PAL or NTSC? Why do you prefer PAL, I found the 29FPS of NTSC is better for slowing down my sports footage. Thanks, Alex

HDV Editing in Adobe PP2
Thanks for that I have obtained a trial download and am currently assesing it. At present I have been able to capture in HD Link but not within Adobe PP2 it still will not recognise the Canon XH A1. I have contacted Cineform to outline my problems, what grief are you getting.

Just about to post the cheque for a brand new Canon xh a1. It occured to me though, as I will be making film of fish, underwater,( although I will have my feet dry) that a prerequisit should be a polorising filter. Can you get one and can you fit one on this camera? Thank you,
