It weighs 1.8 pound and thus sits very comfortably in your hand for stead shooting. Thus great quality images are almost guaranteed. The controls and the buttons can be easily accessed as Cannon has very intelligently designed this camcorder. It has a 2 mega pixel CCD which helps in taking better images. The images look really nice in 5 X 7 prints and it is great that the photos can be easily sent from the camera directly to the PictBridge-enabled printer. To shoot in low light this piece offers three modes namely, Super Night, Night and Low Light. By reducing the shutter speed, the brightness is improved. Be a little careful while shooting in the dark as the beam is very powerful.
The Canon MVX2i’s zoom works very well especially the slow zoom which is very gradual. This is a welcome relief when compared to other camcorders. The autofocus is average and the LCD screen is clear and accurate. The Canon MVX2i has optical image stabilisation. Image quality has saturated colours as an RGB colour filter is used. The videos are soft and snapshots are moderate. Colours may be a little muted. The Canon MVX2i is a welcome addition to the mid range camcorder market. It’s great that this piece is very simple and easy to use. There are no surprises as the controls are where it should be. It has a beautiful look and is sturdy and firm which adds to its reliability. With a bright screen and extensive menu screen, this camcorder is a good investment. Overall, the Canon MVX2i feels and looks great. So check it out when you are in the mood to buy a quality camcorder.

The rotating grip is not as practical as they want you to believe (I found it bulky) and the zoom button is a little hard to reach. Unfortunately I didn't get a chance to test the camera thoroughly since it only took me about 20 minutes to... Read more
